Skin Deep: Skincare Products Review

I wasn't really that into skin care up until this year. I guess since I'm getting older I'm starting to realize that taking care of your skin is important. I never really invested in anything for my skin other than a daily face wash. Now I'm skin care crazy! Here are some of my recent skin care products.

Peter Thomas Roth - Skinstant Mask
I had never heard of this brand until I started using Makeup Social. A girl had posted a picture of these before they re-released the set and I looked everywhere and couldn't find it! Thankfully, Sephora brought the set back for the holidays and hopefully to stay! This set is 3 face masks that are all 1.7 oz (a full size is 5 oz) There is a cucumber, a rose stem, and a pumpkin. Out of the three, the pumpkin is my absolute favorite! It exfoliates and leaves you skin feeling so soft plus it smells AMAZING to the point where you almost want to eat it - but don't. This set costs $45 which isn't bad especially if you just want to try them. Just for one full size mask is $45 for the cucumber and rose stem. The pumpkin one I believe is $58. I'm almost positive they have a smaller set that is like 0.5 oz and it comes with all three but it is only $20. So if you can't see yourself spending the $45, go for the $20 one; either way, I highly recommend this set!

GlamGlow Gift Sexy
Okay, who here has not heard of GlamGlow yet? Let me put you on to an amazing skin care line! I got the GlamGlow Gift Sexy set for Christmas which included the two in the picture (black - youthmud, blue - thirstymud) and also the white one called supermud but I used that one already. The price might shock you, but just for ONE 1.7 oz jar, it is $69. YIKES! I heard so much hype over these things that I had to try them myself, but $69 for ONE?! Thankfully, I didn't have to pay full price for just one. They came out with this gift set (1 full size 1.7 oz and 2 mini 0.5 oz) so I think that made it well worth it. Needless to say, my favorite is the white jar. It cleans out my pores so well and leaves my skin feeling renewed. I also like the black one and how tingly it makes my skin feel. I haven't had a chance to try the blue one just yet. I know the price is pretty outrageous, but to give you a little bit of background; this line was created for the movie stars (hence the star symbol and the Hollywood written across). But it was meant to help treat breakouts immediately for the movie stars. I think this is more of a luxury item than anything but I would say it's something to try at least once! I really like the product so I think I'll continue purchasing the white one. They also have a green one called powermud that I'm anxious to try and a new every day cleanser that I cant't wait to try as well.
Peter Thomas Roth 24K Gold Set
Here is another Peter Thomas Roth product. This was a set that cost $85 - excuse me? Did you just say $85? Yes...Eeek. The price is ridiculous, but the mask ALONE costs $85. With this set, you get 5 other PTR items that probably would have ran your bill up to about $200. I personally have not tried any of these products yet, but it includes the 24k Gold Mask, Un-wrinkle Turbo, FirmX Peeling Mask, Anti-Aging Cleansing Gel, Instant FirmX Eye, and Camu Camu Powder. I'm anxious to try them all!

 Boscia Little Black Book
This is also a first time brand purchase. This is the first thing I own from Boscia. I thought the name was adorable "Little Black Book". I can't exactly remember how much this was, but I don't believe it was too expensive. It comes with 4 different products: Detoxifying Black Cleanser, Luminizing Black Mask, Revitalizing Black Hydration Gel, and No Pores No Shine T-Zone Treatment. I've only tried the cleanser so far and I already love it. I think it is going to become my new daily cleanser of 2015.

New Products for 2015

Lorac Unzipped Gold Palette
I seriously love any Lorac shadows because they're always so pigmented. I have actually been eyeing the original Unzipped palette for awhile and now I want this one as well! Whyyyyy do they do this to us? Just take all my money, Lorac. I haven't heard about a release date yet, but I'll be sure to update you once I do!

Makeup Forever 50 Shades of Grey
I personally have not read the books or seen the movie, but this collection is said to be based off of the actual makeup they used for the set of the movie. How cool?! Plus MUFE quality is always bomb.com according to many people! This collection is already out, so go hurry before they're gone. The collection is limited edition!

Real Techniques Metal Brushes
I'll admit, I'm interested in these brushes because they're very sleek and pretty, MUCH better looking than RT's old brushes, but the price? Really? For those prices you can get MAC brushes. Are they worth a try? Ulta is already carrying these so go check them out if you're interested!

Kat Von D Contour Palette Shade & Light
Contouring is becoming more and more popular now and I feel like many people are starting to come out with contour palettes. This one looks interesting and I feel like there are shades that would suit my fair skin tone. But the darkest one I would never touch because it would be too dark on me.

E.L.F Skincare Line
Say whatttt? For as cheap as the products are, I actually think the quality is half decent. So I'm actually excited they came out with a skin care line. I want to do some more research on what ingredients they used, but I'm excited to try it.

Maybelline Pastels
Just in time for Spring to arrive! Pastel lipsticks from Maybelline. I have a feeling these are going to be a huge hit just like their Matte lipsticks. I've heard they're on the shelves right now! Have at em, girls ;)

Glisten & Glow: Highlighters

I've been obsessing over highlighters lately. I decided to pick a few up and I'm so pleased with my picks! I'm sure many of you love a good glisten on your cheek bones so if you do, be sure to check some of these out.

I've heard tons about Mary-Loumanizer by The Balm and they had a 50% off sale during the holidays so I decided to grab Cindy-Lou also since it's said to suit fair skin better than Mary-Lou does. Personally I like Mary-Lou better, but the pigmentation on both of them is absolutely amazing! I see why everyone is always suggesting this brand of highlighters.

I originally wasn't planning on getting these bad boys (L- Pink Glow, R- Bronze Glow), but I am sooo glad that I did because now everyone is after them and they're sold out everywhere! These are my first beauty products from Bobbi Brown and I am literally in love. I mean, seriously, look at how pretty they are! I think the bronze glow is more pigmented than the pink glow, but they are both just so pretty. I'd say the pink glow is probably more for people with fair skin and the bronze is more for people with a darker, olive complexion.  The price on these weren't bad either. at $45 a pop, I think it was a steal!

This was a last minute impulse buy, but then again what isn't anymore lol. The highlighter doesn't look that nice while packaged, but on the skin it is gorgeous! Perfect for someone with a tan or olive complexion.

Oh, Chanel. *insert emoji with heart eyes*. If you know me, you know I'm absolutely obsessssseed with Chanel. Absolutely, hands down, one of my favorite brands for anything - handbags, shoes, beauty, etc. But this, THIS, is just perfection. It is said that is was created with inspiration from diamonds and feathers and dear lawwwdd did they capture that. It is a pearly, iridescent highlight that is just to die for. I'm so sad this is limited edition, I don't ever want to run out of it! The price on this is a bit steep, though. I had to justify myself spending $70 on a highlighter, but I think it was well worth it!
