Lipstick Junkie: Gerard Cosmetics Review

I didn't know about Gerard Cosmetics/Whitening Lightning until recently when I started watching YouTube videos. I saw their lipsticks and wanted to try them! Originally when I saw them they only had 5 and at the time, they had a deal on their 5 pack. It was $95 for all 5, but with the coupon code I had, it brought it down to just $45! $50 off? I'll take it! Needless to say, I bought the 5 pack. Then about a month later they came out with 2 new shades (Buttercup and Cherry Cordial) and of course I had to have those, too, completing my set. Now I have all 7 of their lipsticks and I don't regret it one bit.

The package is a sleek, gold, bullet shaped tube. The lipsticks themselves are beautiful shades, but they're a bit hard to get on as they tug at the lips. The pigmentation is great in all of them and they're long lasting.

L to R: Nude, Buttercup, 1995, Tequila Sunrise, All Dolled Up, Fire Engine Red, and Cherry Cordial
My absolute favorite from these lipsticks and it is Buttercup! This is literally the perfect pink/nude I've ever seen and it's created by Jaclyn Hill! 1995 is also one of her babies, but I personally don't like it on my skin tone, it's a little too brown for me - still a pretty color though!
I've seen YouTube gurus such as Jaclyn Hill, Nicole Guerriero, SMLXO, and Carli Byble wear Fire Engine Red and it looks fabulous! Overall, these puppies are a YES in my book. Love, love, love! And they look pretty on my vanity in the lipstick holder I have, too :)

Tom Ford: Lips and Boys Review

Tom Ford announced about a month ago they would be launching a new collection of 50 mini lipsticks in a collection they called "Lips and Boys". Each lipstick was given a boys name.

Because they are mini, they knocked down their $50 price to $32 per lipstick. Although that still seems like a lot of money for a "mini" sized product, the lipsticks are only 0.03 oz less than the original size. A full sized Tom Ford lipstick is 0.1 oz whereas the minis are 0.07 oz. I can't see myself paying $50 for one lipstick, so the $32 made it a little easier to justify. Plus NARS Audacious lipsticks are $32 a pop right now and those are WELL worth it.

I loved the entire collection and if I had $1600 just lying around, I probably would've purchased all of them lol. But I was able to get my hands on 9 of my favorites.

L to R: Holden, Beau, Ian, Flynn, Olivier, Alexander, Alejandro, Leonardo, Wes

L to R: Holden, Beau, Ian, Flynn, Olivier, Alexander, Alejandro, Leonardo, Wes

- Holden - Sheer, shimmery nude
- Beau - Medium coverage nude
- Ian - Sheer, simmery pinkish nude
- Flynn - Medium coverage light pink/nude
- Olivier - Medium coverage pink
- Alexander - Full coverage bright pink
- Alejandro - Full coverage cool red
- Leonardo - Full coverage deep red
- Wes - Full coverage burgundy
It was a struggle picking out which colors I wanted because before it launched, there were no swatches to base my decision on. I had to pretty much go with my initial reaction to the color on their website and hope for the best. Unfortunately I was disappointed with two of these lipsticks: Holden and Ian. I wasn't expecting shimmer in them and I'm pretty disappointed there is because the colors on the website looked beautiful.
On the other hand, the texture is very creamy for all of these! The packaging is the same as the full size lipsticks with the gorgeous gold outlining. I'd say Tom Ford did a great job on this collection.
I don't know that I have a favorite from these nine lipsticks because they're all gorgeous, but if I had to choose I think I would say Flynn. It's such a beautiful color on the lips and it's the perfect pinky nude. I just wish it was full coverage. And Wes is the perfect vampy color for fall - dear lawwwdd!
Overall, I love this collection and think it was a cute idea to pair boy names with the lipsticks. I personally got Alexander because it's my boyfriend's name (and it's a cute color) so I thought that was neat!

Lorac You Rock: Review

Lorac Royal Lip Lustre Crème Sets

This was from Lorac's holiday collection. They had 3 different sets with mostly all different shades. They had a few repeats (like Tiara) but otherwise, there were specific, "exclusive", shades for each set. So of course, me being the princess that I am - I had to collect them all. Lol.

First, let me just say that as much as I wanted these for how cute the names were, I was a little skeptical because I kept hearing that they had a sticky consistency to them which is obviously no good. Also, I'm not much of a lip gloss girl, but more into lipsticks. Thankfully that awful rumor turned out to be false. I tried them on for myself and they weren't sticky! Score 1- Lorac, 0- Critics.

Like I mentioned above, I'm obsessed with how cute and clever the names of the lip glosses are. Super fitting to me if I do say so myself *insert crown emoji*

I think it was a good marketing tactic on their end to spread them out into specific locations. I believe one was only available at HSN, the other at Ulta, and the other on Lorac's website. So in order to get all 3, you had to purchase one from each place - ultimately giving Lorac business as well as Ulta and HSN.

I hold Lorac to some pretty high standards and I must say, for lip gloss - I'm impressed. These sets get a thumbs up from me!

L to R: English Rose, Reign, Empress, Tiara, Fairytale, Princess, Your Highness, Majestic, Enchanted, Lady in Waiting, Crown Jewel, and Royal Red

Bottom: Without

These next 3 reviews are all on Lorac eye shadows. The first is their Lorac Pro 2 palette. This was the first Lorac product I purchased and I am so happy I did. I heard so many reviews about their first Pro palette and the second one lives up to the hype. The pigmentation is insane, the shadows are buttery, and I got it at a steal for just $20 on HSN.com! I also think they have a great range of color as well. I've been wanting the 1st Pro palette and their Unzipped palette so hopefully in the near future I'll be scooping those up as well.

I hear tons of people raving about the Urban Decay Naked palettes, and I personally have all three, and none of them come close to the Lorac palettes. If someone asks me UD Naked palette or Lorac Pro palette I would say Lorac hands down!

L to R: Buff, Lt. Brown, Cool Grey, Nectar, Plum, Navy, Charcoal, Black, Snow, and Beige
L to R: Rose, Mocha, Chrome, Silver, Jade, and Cocoa

Next is Lorac's Royal Eye Shadow Set. Honestly, the shadows in this collection didn't even really catch my eye, it was the packaging and the name. Princess, Queen, etc...it just fits me - so I needed it lol. But after swatching them, I'm actually pleasantly surprised and glad I picked this beauty up. This was also part of their holiday collection. I just wish the shadows had names added to them.

Last is the most talked about Lorac Mega Pro palette. People have been dying for this palette since it released. Of course they made it limited edition - UGH I hate when they do that to most wanted products. Anywho, I legit stalked their website the day it was being released and as any other makeup fiend, I refreshed the page a million times until it let me purchase it! Thankfully I was lucky enough to get my hands on it. For those of you that weren't able to, I'm hoping they bring it back so you can get it!

Now, before this came out I heard a lot of talk; the colors weren't appealing to many people, the pigmentation wasn't good, blah blah..blah blah blah.

But here's my take on it: it's extremely pigmented, the colors are amazing (my favorite is Mulberry), and for the price of $59 for 32 shades - you can't beat it. I also love that there are both matte and shimmer shadows in this palette as most of Lorac's palettes do. Ultimately - this is a YES in my book.

L to R: Cream, Fawn, Camel, Sepia, Dusty Plum, Orchid, Mulberry, Espresso, White, Khaki

L to R: Brown, Stone, Lilac, Wisteria, Gray, Black, Sand, Copper, Sienna, Apricot, Blush

L to R: Merlot, Indigo, Vanilla, Cashmere, Smokey Topaz, Dusty Rose, Granite, Maroon, Deep Teal, and Caviar

I hope you enjoyed!

I'm interested to know your thoughts on these - leave a comment :)
