Highlighter Collection

I've been going through my makeup collection quite a bit lately and I figured I would start doing a weekly post on my collection by category. If I just did one post on my entire collection, it would bore you to death because of how long it would be lol. I just want to put a disclaimer out there that these posts are not to brag or show off, they are just simply to show you what I have in my collection and if any of you are interested in swatches, please let me know and I'd be happy to post some for you! This took a bit of time to accumulate so please don't think I went out and purchased all of this in one day haha. I'm really obsessed with highlighters so this collection will continue to grow. There are a TON of new highlighters out that I haven't been able to pick up yet. But here's my highlighter far lol.

10 Foundations Under $10

Tired of your old foundation and looking for a new one but don't want to break the bank? Here are 10 foundations under $10 or pretty close to it! What are some of your favorite foundations?
Rimmel Stay Matte $4.97
I don't own many Rimmel products, but I actually have this foundation and for the price this is a really great matte foundation and for the price, who could beat that?!
Maybelline Fit Me and Fit Me Matte & Poreless $5.94
Both Maybelline Fit Me foundations are reasonably priced at approximately $6 which isn't bad at all! I haven't tried the Fit Me foundation, but the Matte & Poreless one I've been trying for about a week now and I've been loving it! I will have a review of it up soon! The Matte and Poreless is more for oily to combo skin and the regular Fit Me is more for dry to normal skin types.
e.l.f. Flawless Finish Foundation $6
I haven't tried any e.l.f. foundations, but this one actually reminds me of the new NARS Luminous Silk foundation because of the packaging and OMG is that a pump?! Need this in your life!
 Covergirl Ready Set Gorgeous$6.94
I personally am not a fan of Covergirl products, but EleventhGorgeous on YouTube raves about this stuff alllll the time and I figured there are people out there that enjoy their products, so this one's for you! And it's only $7 so it's worth the try!
NYX Stay Matte But Not Flat $7.50
This is another foundation I have yet to try, but I've heard great things about it. Plus it's under $8. Um, yes please!
Maybelline Dream Wonder $8.94
I see this everywhere on so many people's blogs, YouTube videos, Instagram and still I haven't picked it up and I don't know why I haven't yet because it's only $8.94! Go get you some!
L'Oreal True Match $8.97
This is a holy grail foundation for a lot of people. I personally wasn't AMAZED with it, but it was an okay foundation. They have a wide selection of colors though which is great for really fair and really deep skin tones.
L'Oreal Magic Nude Liquid Powder $10.97
I know I'm cutting it close with this one and I apologize but the next 2 are also going to be a bit over $10 but I had to throw them in here. Don't hate me! This foundation is pretty popular as well but another one I haven't tried. It's a smidge over $10 but it beats paying $30 for a foundation at Sephora if you're on a budget, right?!
 L'Oreal True Match LUMI $10.97
This is the sister to the L'Oreal True Match, except this is a more luminous foundation hence the LUMI part. This foundation comes with a pump which is always appreciated. This would be more for dry or normal skin tones.
L'Oreal Infallible Pro-Matte $11.88
This is the most expensive foundation and I know it's almost $2 over the $10 limit, but I just had to put this on here. So many people are loving this foundation and I personally cannot wait to try it myself!
Hope you enjoyed this! What are your favorite drugstore foundations under $10?

Hardcandy Glamoflauge Foundation

In my previous post about my mini haul from Ulta I know I recently picked up a foundation (see here), but I came across this new foundation at Walmart and I'm dying to get it. It's only $7 so it's definitely not a bank breaker and wait for the best part. Drum roll has a freakin' pump! I wish all companies would put pumps on their foundations. Not many drugstore foundations have pumps so this is a huge deal. I do have the infamous Hardcandy Glamoflauge heavy duty concealer and I really like it. I can only assume that this foundation will be full coverage like their concealer and I love a full coverage foundation! I think this is on my list for my next haul. What are your thoughts? Excited to try it, not really interested?

Favorites: Drug Store Edition

I feel like I don't do enough drug store posts for you lovelies and I know that some of you are on a tight budget or are single mothers that may not get help. So this one's for you! This is going to be just drug store makeup so I hope you enjoy!

*Take note that Walmart prices are cheaper than Ulta prices, so be sure to check there for a product first before heading over to Ulta!

NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil in Milk (Ulta $4.49)
In my previous post that talks about makeup struggles, I talked about my struggle with eyeshadow and someone recommended this product to me. I have an issue with my eyeshadow actually showing up. I feel like I can pack on the color for dayyyys and it still won't look like I have any eyeshadow on. This baby definitely helps with that issue. Put this on before your eyeshadow and it almost acts as a primer, only better. It really intensifies your shadows.
NYX HD Photogenic Concealer (Ulta $4.99)
This was my holy grail concealer for the longest time and I see myself going back to it once I finish the concealer that I've been using. It has great coverage, it's creamy, and it's affordable. What more could you want in a concealer? The only issue I had with this is that it didn't last very long.
NYX Soft Matte Lip Creams (Ulta $5.99)
There is a variety of gorgeous colors in these liquid to matte lip creams. They're almost like the affordable version of all these liquid lipsticks coming out. Some people claim they're too drying, but the solution with that is just applying lip balm on prior to applying them!
NYX Butter Glosses (Ulta $4.99)
These babies are like the sister to the soft matte lip creams. They're pigmented and smooth and come in a variety of colors. NYX recently came out with new intense butter glosses which are exactly that - intense. You can find swatches in my New From NYX post!
NYX Pore Filler Primer (Ulta $13.99)
I actually bought this quite awhile ago and I don't remember it being $13.99 because that seems a bit high for a drug store brand to me. But regardless, I love this stuff. It's like a dupe for Benefit's Porefessional that everyone raves about.

NYX Illuminator in Ritualistic (Ulta $8.99)
This highlighter is gorgeous! Super pigmented and just all around beautiful. I think this is definitely a product more for fair skin and it almost reminds me of a dupe for Becca Moonstone. This was my go-to for such a long time and it's never let me down!
NYX Round Lipstick in Thalia (Ulta $3.99)
I actually saw this on Pinterest awhile ago and finally decided to go out on a whim and pick it up a few months ago and I cannot put this lipstick down. This right here is my holy grail and I am constantly reaching for it. The color is really hard to describe but I'll attempt to. It's like a nude, pink, mauve-y color. Purrrrrfection! The image looks more pink than anything, but I promise it's not.
---------------------------------------------------------- Can everyone tell I love NYX yet? Lol.

Maybelline Dream Pure BB Cream 8-in-1 (Walmart $7.44 , Ulta $8.99)
I don't wear BB creams too often just because I really like full coverage, but this gives me enough coverage and it has many benefits and it claims to clear your skin plus it is oil free. The 8 benefits this product claims to have is: clear acne, conceal imperfections, minimize look of pores, reduce appearance of redness, adjust to skin tone, hydrate, smooth, enhance skin
Maybelline Baby Skin Primer (Walmart $5.94, Ulta $6.99)
This is another product everyone is always talking about. I don't have much to say about it other than it does it's job!
Maybelline Super Stay 14 Hour Lipstick in Wine & Forever (Walmart $6.94, Ulta $8.99)
I know the image makes it look a little more on the brown side, but if you know me, you would know I'm not a fan of any lipsticks that have any kind of brown undertone. In person, I promise this is more of a deep red, wine, burgundy color. It's just gorgeous, especially for fall. I'm not sure about the 14 hour claim because I've never worn it for that long, but it's still a beautiful color for a great price.

Maybelline Matte Lipsticks in Divine Wine and Lust for Blush (Walmart $5.50 each, Ulta $7.99 each)
These matte lippies from Maybelline were a huge hit and were sold out pretty much everywhere! Thankfully I got my hands on the two that I wanted and I'm so glad I did. Divine Wine is another deep wine color that is great for fall and Lust For Blush is a gorgeous pinky-mauve color that is works for an everyday color.
Maybelline Fit Me Foundation Stick (I usually use this for cream contouring) (Walmart $6.94, Ulta $8.99)
I truthfully didn't expect to like this product, but honestly it is perfect for cream contouring. It is very blendable and the stick makes it easy to make the lines for your contour.
---------------------------------------------------------- Apparently I like Maybelline too? Haha

Hard Candy Glamoflauge Concealer (Walmart $6)
I know the package says "heavy duty" but girrrrrrl, let me tell you heavy duty is a perfect description for this concealer. You want redness, blemishes, scars, even tattoos gone? This is the stuff to use! This is what I've been using pretty much every day since I got it and what I've learned is that a little bit of this goes a long way. I'm talking like two dots will cover your entire face. Don't believe me? Try it!

ELF Baked Highlighter in Moonlight Pearls (I couldn't find this product in their online inventory)
Normally e.l.f. products run between $1 - $5 so I can't imagine this being any more than that. This is a very pretty champagne, pearl highlighter
Neutrogena Shine Control Foundation (Ulta $13.99)
This was actually the first liquid foundation I ever tried and I fell in love. It's oil free, it lasts, and it's just a great foundation for me. I don't hear too many people talking about it, though and I feel like they should be.

Neutrogena Shine Control Powder (Ulta $12.99)
I first tried this product and I could've swore it looked like I had flour or to be extreme, cocaine, on my face. It looked like I just had white on my face. Needless to say, I tried applying it with a brush instead of the applicator that comes with it and I loved it. It sets my makeup flawlessly and it stays all day.

L'Oreal Voluminous Mascara (Walmart $5.84, Ulta $7.99)
Hands down, my holy grail mascara. I've heard people talking about the Voluminous Carbon Black mascara that I'm wanting to try to compare the two, but until then, this is my baby. It separates my lashes, doesn't clump, and makes them look full. BANG!
L'Oreal True Match Foundation (Walmart $6.42 - $8.97 , Ulta $9.99)
I tried this foundation because of a few referrals and when I first tried it, I hated it. I absolutely hated it. I tried it a second time and I still didn't like it. Then I ran out of my favorite foundation (Neutrogena Shine Control) and I had to use this since it was the only thing sitting in my drawer at the time. Now I use the True Match daily and I'm almost out! I get just enough coverage and it doesn't make me oily.

Revlon Lipstick in Honey Bare (Walmart $4.97 , Ulta $7.99)
If I'm looking for a nude lip, this is the color I grab for. It's just the perfect everyday nude. No other words needed!

What are your holy grails or favorites from the drugstore?!

The reason I titled this post "Spotlight" is because I will be writing about a product that deserves the spotlight. This is something that I will be doing a few times a month for all of you so that you know what products I'm loving and why! I felt the need to let you all know about this product because it has just changed my life, fo' reaaaal! And for $4 you can't beat it! If you don't know, I have combination skin, which means some spots I am very oily and others are dry. I also have acne prone skin which I've been trying everything to get it under control and nothing (except this) has worked! So if you have any of these issues, seriously considering at least TRYING this product. It's not a bank breaker.

I have a habit of picking at my blemishes so it's taken me awhile for me to get my skin to where I want it to be, but this honestly clears up my entire face and evens out my skin tone within a matter of like a week. I know some people have asked if you can use this on your body like if you have acne on your back, but honestly I'm not sure - I don't see why not though.

Drum roll pleasssseee...........

Shea Moisture African Black Soap! It is $4 (like mentioned above) and you can find it at most drugstores. I found mine at Walmart. As you can see on the packaging it states "Acne Prone & Troubled Skin". The story behind this brand is absolutely amazing. You can read it here. But overall for the price, you get a bang for your buck. I truly believe in this product and the results I've seen. I stopped using all of my other face washes to see if this product truly works, and in my opinion, it does.

you're welcome *Sadie voice from Awkward*
What are your thoughts on this product?!

How To: Cleaning Your Makeup Brushes

There are so many ways to clean your makeup brushes, but I’ve found the most effective and inexpensive way to do so is to take half olive oil (for conditioning) and half dawn dish soap (for cleaning). I set out all of my dirty brushes and beauty blenders, get a towel to dry them on, I take about 2 drops of dish soap and 2 drops of olive oil on the brushes and swirl them around in my hand, then run them under water until they’re clean. When I’m finished cleaning them, I set them in a line on a towel to dry overnight.

I was just recently made aware that they have “brush trees” where you can hang your brushes upside down, so I absolutely plan on getting that. I feel like it would be more practical drying my brushes that way rather than laying them down on a towel. I think they're at Walmart for about $15.

I know there are tons of cleansers out there, but they’re so expensive for such little product. By using this method, the soap and oil last extremely long and you can clean your brushes a lot more than you could by purchasing a cleanser. Before I found out about this method, I purchased a small 5 oz bottle of brush cleanser and it was about $8 and only lasted me like 3 times compared to paying $8 for both olive oil and dawn dish soap and lasting approximately 20 times. It's worth a try if you're looking for a new way to clean your brushes.
I also have seen many people are after the silicone glove that helps you clean your brushes that can cost upwards to like $40 from Sigma but there are cheaper "knockoffs" I guess you can say at CVS!
If you've found another method that works better for you, I'd love to know about it! Just leave it in the comments :)

Labor Day Weekend

Good morning my darlings! I hope you all had a good holiday weekend. It feels like Monday to me and I am exhausted from all the excitement from this weekend. How many of you went shopping to get all the great deals and sales for the holiday?! I know I did! My boyfriend completely spoiled me this weekend, but I'll get to that later.

Right now, I wanted to share with you my purchase from Happiness Boutique that I ordered like two weeks ago that finally came in! For those of you that haven't heard of Happiness Boutique, they are based out of Germany and they sell jewelry, other accessories, and some clothing. I'm absolutely obsessed with their statement necklaces so I bought two that were my favorite (picture below). The necklaces came in a cute box with the company's name on it and a hand written note (just like Colour Pop) which I thought was so sweet. The jewlery doesn't feel cheap either - it's a heavier metal. It takes a little longer for the shipping to the U.S. because they're based out of Germany, but the wait is worth it! I love these chunky statement necklaces and if you like them too, you can find them here.

This weekend my boyfriend really spoiled me waaaayyyy more than I expected! Friday we went to Walmart and he bought me Dre Beats headphones (which he'll probably use more than me anyway lol) and a new camera!
He was so kind to give me money to go shopping for fall clothes and basically what ever else my little heart desired! My main focus was fall clothes, though. So on Saturday I bought tons of sweaters and cardigans from Kohl's, Wet Seal, and Charlotte Russe. I also bought a really nice jacket from Aeropostale that was half off! And the purse you see in the picture is from Wet Seal. I also stopped at MAC for the very first time! AH! No longer a MAC "virgin". I wanted to pick up some fall lip colors. I know in the picture they look very similar, but the one on the left is Rebel which is a deep purple, wine color and the one on the right is Diva (my new favorite fall color) which is a rich dark red that gives you the "vampy" look. I also got lip liners to match. Vino goes with Rebel and Burgundy goes with Diva. I was nervous that they would be too dark for my pale (almost see through) complexion, but I absolutely adore these colors, especially for the fall! I definitely suggest if you want a dark, vampy look to grab these lippies!
Sunday we went to Target just to look around and he bought me a Keurig that I've been wanting. That was a last minute purchase. As we were walking out of the store we saw them and he looked at me and said, "Do you want it?" Worst thing to ask a girl; my answer will always be um, YES! Haha so we got that which I'm super excited about. Now I won't have to be a zombie in the mornings and no more running to Wawa or Dunkin.
Lastly, yesterday (Monday) I needed to go to Walmart to get totes to store my summer clothes in and while we were in the shopping center he wanted to stop at GNC for protein mix so while I was there I grabbed apple cider vinegar, which I've heard is supposed to help with acne scars. I also grabbed biotin vitamins (as I've heard it helps with hair growth) and multivitamins for general health. And I found everyone's holy grail hair product that I've been searching for, coconut oil!

I got so many goodies this weekend I didn't even know what to do with myself! I legit felt like a princess.

Leave some comments below, I'd love to know what your holiday pick-ups were :) and even if you didn't buy anything, I'd love to hear what you did for Labor Day. Did you go to a picnic, did you relax at home, did you have to work (how dare they make you work a holiday!). Lol. Thanks for viewing lovelies!

New Products

Happy Friday Eve babydolls! So glad the week is almost over! I just bought some new goodies that I'm super excited to receive and share with all of you! I purchased from Happiness Boutique (Free Shipping), Colour Pop (Free Shipping over $30), and Ulta (Free Shipping over $25) and this weekend I'll be going to Walmart and Target for more drugstore beauty products. Hopefully by next week I'll have received everything so I can do a haul :)

On September 1st myself and my newfound BFF, Michelle, will be sending out our swap boxes for each other! The boxes will contain a mixture between high end and drugstore products. We should receive them by the second week in September to do a swap box opening! I'll keep you darlings updated on that.

I'll also be posting my guest post either tonight or tomorrow and my post for the web magazine will go up Saturday. Goodness, I'm a busy woman lately! But I'm loving every minute of it :)

Thank you all for supporting me and viewing my blog!

Mane and Tail Review

Mane and Tail Review

I couldn't imagine using a product that is used for animals. It sounded so barbaric to me, but I heard so many people ranting and raving about it that I absolutely had to try it! Mane and Tail can be found at any local drug store such as Walgreens, CVS, and even Walmart. The price runs for about $8.00 for a 32 fl. oz. bottle, but a lot of the time they are on sale for buy 1 get 1 FREE! And lets be honest, who doesn't like free?! Anyway, I got mine at CVS while they were having the buy 1 get one free sale and it was one of the best purchases I've made!

I have been trying to grow my hair out for about 3 and a half years now and I feel like I'm getting NO WHERE with it. I've tried everything from trimming it frequently, using hair masks, multi-vitamins - you name it, I tried it. A friend of mine told me about Mane and Tail and how it made her hair grow really fast - her hair is past her waist, almost at her butt. Because it worked for her, I figured I'd try it.

I used it for about 3 and a half months and let me tell you, I don't think I will ever use another shampoo and conditioner again! I was so pleased with the way it made my hair and it came as a shock. In those 3 and a half months my hair grew about 3 - 4 inches. Normally, your hair grows at a rate of 1/2 an inch a month, but with this product mine was growing almost double that! I do have to say, I was also using Macadamia Natural Hair Oil Deep Repair Masque from Ulta (which I absolutely loved) so that may have played a part in keeping my hair healthy as well. I only used that about once a week, though. The Macadamia Hair Masque was a bit pricey; it was $33 but it lasted me about three months. I really liked that product as well. They also have a cheaper version of this that I haven't tried yet, but it's called Hydrating Macadamia Oil Intensive Mask by Organix which is also at Ulta for $7.99!

My hair tends to fall out everywhere: the shower, the sink, the floor. It doesn't matter what I'm doing to it - I could be brushing it, straightening it, curling it, shampooing it - whatever I'm doing, it falls out excessively. With this product, I noticed my hair stopped shedding almost 75%! I wasn't noticing as much hair in the shower or on my floors. I was ecstatic.

Like any other conditioner, I noticed I was using that up more than I was the shampoo, but that's normal for me. Personally, I don't think Mane and Tail has too much of a scent in my opinion, but it definitely didn't smell bad, that's for sure! So that's a plus.

Mane and Tail also has other products like detangler which I've also tried. It's almost like a hair mist. It doesn't leave any type of residue on your hair it just leaves it feeling natural, but helps it to untangle. I like the detangler, but I don't love it as much as I do the shampoo and conditioner. They also have a hair strengthener that I am anxious to try. (I'll have to review that once I do!) I would recommend at least trying Mane and Tail shampoo and conditioner for healthier hair! I have very fine hair and it helped to thicken it up a bit.

Warning! There is no guarantee that this product will work the same way for someone else as it did for me, but it is definitely worth a shot!

Thanks for reading :) Be sure to subscribe!
