Too Faced Melted Lipstick Dupe

Too Faced Melted Lipsticks are really popular in the makeup community as well as their new liquid matte lipsticks, but they can get a little expensive. They are priced at $21 a piece. Luckily for those of you on a budget that want the shades of the Too Faced Melted lipsticks, there are 2 dupes for nude/pink shades that I think you guys are going to love! The dupes are from Maybelline from their Color Jolt lipsticks which are priced at $7.70 a piece. Thats a $13.30 difference! You can basically get 3 Maybelline Color Jolts for the price of one Too Faced Melted.
So lets first compare packaging. Both are in squeezy tubes, the Too Faced ones are just a little longer and slimmer. Another difference is the gold details on the Too Faced tubes.
The applicators are also super similar. The only difference is the Too Faced one (top) has multiple tiny holes that the product comes out of and the Maybelline one (bottom), as you can tell in the picture, has one where the product comes out. The formulas are also very similar. I would say the Maybelline is a little bit thicker than the Too Faced.
Above are swatches and you can see the similarities. L to R is Too Faced Nude, Maybelline Stripped Down, Too Faced Peony, Maybelline Never Bare. There are slight difference as Stripped Down is a little darker than Nude and Peony is slightly darker than Never Bare. Still I would consider these to be dupes because of how close they are. Below is a picture of the swatches without natural lighting.

Mini Holiday Haul

Holiday shopping already? YES girl, because I've learned my lesson. If I don't pick up the limited edition sets when they come out and wait til November/December, they'll be GONE. And I'm not trying to pay double the price on eBay, ya feel me?! So I've been snatching up the holiday sets that I've had my eyes on and I am sooo thankful I was able to be dear lawwwdd these sets are beautyyyyyful. Here's what I've hauled so far because TRUST ME, it's only September and there is way more to come! :)

Tarte Bling It On Blush Palette
This retails for $44 at Sephora and is worth every stinkin' penny! The Tarte blush formula is just amazing. They come out with a blush palette every year and since last year, I made it a tradition to pick it up each year.

Carli Bybel x BH Cosmetics Palette
This was a limited edition palette that comes with 10 eyeshadows and 4 highlighters. It retails for $12.50! An amazing steal! It is sold out at the moment but rumor has it, Carli wants to bring it back because she wants everyone that wants one to get one. How sweet?!
Laura G Nail Polish Set
@laurag_123 on Instagram came out with her own line of nail polishes. This set retails for $48. She also has 2 separate sets that has just 4 polishes that I believe is only $24 which is amazing considering these actually cost $14 a piece! So I had to get them mainly because of the nude and the mauve color but ugh they're all stunning. She is also coming out with a matte top coat that I can't wait to get my hands on.
Becca Glow On The Go Set and Becca AfterGlow PaletteI purchased both of these off of the Ulta website. The Glow On The Go Set retails for just $20! So for those of you that have been dying to try the most loved highlighter out there, Opal, now is your chance without spending the big bucks for the full size. The AfterGlow palette retails for $39.50 which is not bad for all the shades you get. You get 5 shades: 3 highlighters and 2 blushes (Moonstone, Rose Gold, Topaz, Wild Honey, and Flowerchild). And the packaging is just stunnninnngg!

Too Faced Melted Kisses & Sweet Cheeks and La Crème Lipstick SetI always love love loveeeee Too Faced packaging, especially for the holidays because they always do it big. But I had to pick up the Melted Kisses & Sweet Cheeks because I really wanted to try their blushes. This retails for $36 and both the melted lipsticks and blushes are travel size. The blushes are suuuper mini but they're adorable. This set includes melted lipstick in Fig, Peony, and Nude and blushes in Your Love is King, Justify My Love, and Love Hangover. The La Crème lipstick set retails for $29 which is a steal because one of their lipsticks costs $21 and you're getting 3 FULL SIZE lipsticks plus an adorable bag. The shades include Nude Beach, Taffy, and limited to this set WHAM!.

Another super cute thing about the Melted Kisses and Sweet Cheeks set is that you can potentially break them into 3 sets and give them as gifts to one of your makeup loving friends. But as the packaging says, "None for you, ALL for ME!" Haha.

And last but not least, this baby just released on Ulta's website for Platinum members and I definitely had to scoop this up before it was gone. I purchased the Lorac Mega Pro palette from last year and it is my FAVORITE palette ever. I have the Lorac Pro 1, Lorac Pro 2, the Mega Pro and now I'm adding this one to my collection.

Too Faced Born This Way Foundation Review

Hi my lovely viewers! Long time no post, I know. I apologize for going MIA on all of you without an explanation, but I've been extremely busy lately. Trust me, I have missed blogging like you wouldn't imagine! But it's been so long that I'm not sure I even know how to blog anymore lol. I made sure to still keep up to date with my social media, though so if you don't follow me yet, you should :) @beautyandablog.

But enough of this boring intro, let's get to the real reason you're here. A couple months ago Too Faced released a new foundation called Born This Way and it was all the rave on all the blogs, instagrams, and youtube channels. HSN was having a sale so of course I had to grab it while I could get it at a discounted price. Retail price is $39 USD and can be found on the Too Faced website, Sephora, and Ulta.

I'll dive into the packaging and let all of you know up front that I adore every aspect about the packaging. Too Faced always seems to manage to have the cutest package of all time, this one is no different. I love the frosted glass, the gold detailing, and most of all - IT HAS A PUMP. Any foundation that comes with a pump is most appreciated because it just makes life easier, so thank you Too Faced for knowing what your customers want and delivering.

With my purchase I also receieved 3 samples. The shade I got is Porcelain and then Vanilla, Light Beige and Sand are the 3 samples I got with my purchase. As far as the shade selection goes, I am not impressed in the slightest. There arent many options for extremely fair girls and not many options for deeper skin tones either. I saw that they're already planning on coming out with a few more shades to tend to these skin tones but the lightest shade that was available for me was Porcelain and honestly I wouldn't call it Porcelain at all. I have pink-neutral undertones and as my image above shows, the selection they have is very yellow based which is pretty upsetting. But aside from the shades, the formula itself is incredible. For those of you that know me, you know my holy grail foundation is Estee Lauder Double Wear and the Born This Way foundation is pretty much tied (just wish they had better shade selections). It has medium-full coverage but it's buildable. Without any primer underneath it makes the appearance of my pores look significantly smaller, my face looks smooth and my skin tone evens out (no redness). It doesn't feel or look caked on and it gives almost a demi-matte finish. I personally think this would be suitable for all skin types because I have combo skin and it didn't cling to any dry patches or get really oily in my T-zone. I would absolutely suggest this foundation if you can find your shade or if you have yellow undertones. I'm hoping the new shades they come out with are more my shade.

Let me know what other products you would like me to review because I'M BAAAACCCKKKK <3

Too Faced Foundation

Looks like we have a launch date ladies and gents! There has been numerous pictures flying around the internet of a mysterious Too Faced foundation bottle with the name Born This Way on it. We now have confirmation that this will be releasing June 15th and if I heard correctly, it will be a toofaced.com exclusive! It is a medium-full coverage foundation and there appear to be 12 shades. No word on how much this will be but my guess is probably $36-$40 ish. I'm actually really excited about this. I love TF as a brand and I've never tried anything other than their powders so I'm anxious to try a liquid foundation by them.

Too Faced Bronzer Wardrobe

The Too Faced Bronzer Wardrobe that you've seen all these YouTube beauty gurus have is now available to the public for a limited time on TooFaced.com ! It is a bit pricey, but you are getting 6 FULL size bronzers and a full size kabuki brush for $198 when original cost would be $274! I would definitely say this is a steal and a staple in a makeup collection. Love this set and it's perfect for summer!

New on the Market: Drugstore & High End

Hi babes! Sorry I've been MIA lately, I've been super busy with YouTube and a bunch of other stuff. So let's just dive in to the new goodies that will be or have already released!

First up is a NYX product that will be coming out in June. SOOOOO soon! This is their new Liquid Suede lipstick. I can't imagine these being any more than $5 - $8 seeing as they're drugstore, although their prices have been increasing a lot lately. It looks like they made some beautiful neutral colors I can't wait to get my hands on that pink one!

Next is 6 Long Lasting 16 hour blushes by Too Faced. These have cute heart packaging and adorable names! These are a part of their Fall 2015 line so I'm not sure when these will be releasing. I'm assuming possibly in August? And do I spy their new foundation in the background?! "Born This Way" is what it is called. That should be releasing around the same time. I've never tried a Too Faced foundation so I'm excited to try that. I think I definitely want to get my hands on the Baby Love blush too! Eeeeek, I'm already starting a Fall wish list and it's not even officially Summer!

Next are the Maybelline Creamy Matte lipsticks. These have been the talk of the town all over the place. But, wait, because there's more! They are coming out with ten new shades that will be permanent! Clay Crush looks beautiful for Spring! OMG. I'm not sure if these are out already or not, but check your local drugstores and Ulta's because they may be sneaking onto the shelves already.
Last is a new line from e.l.f. called Beautifully Bare which includes a blush ($4), blending brush ($6), foundation serum ($8), lash tint mascara ($4), defining mascara ($4), and a lip tint (not pictured $5) . They mentioned on their Instagram that there is a limited quantity for their launch so hurry while these last! I am definitely interested in getting the blush, foundation serum and that blending brush!

Too Faced Steal

Shout out to my girl Hayley who always keeps me up to date on deals. Too Faced is having a great one! Get a lipgloss and lipstick for only $32! This is a 24 hour deal so hurry while it lasts. Just use promo code: LIPLOVE at checkout. I suggest Naked Dolly for a lipstick. It's a beautiful nude color. Any of their lipsticks are great, though. Their formula is very smooth and creamy (I actually kind of hate that word lol)

The Just One Tag

Last week I was tagged in a "Just One" tag by the awesome Beautylymin. This tag is where you have to choose only ONE product in each category which is obviously difficult for every girl because how can you choose JUST ONE?! But, I've somehow managed to narrow mine down. Here goes nothin'!

Facial Cleanser: This is more of a makeup remover, but it is also considered a cleansing oil. It is the Boscia Makeup-Breakup Cool Cleansing Oil. This stuff works wonders at removing your makeup. I actually have a full review/demo on this beauty! I'm seriously running out fast and I need to pick up another one before I do run out.

Lip Gloss: NYX Buttergloss in Éclair has to be my favorite gloss because it adds such a beautiful pink color to my lips. Although it's a little sticky, I still love it, especially for the price!

Eyeshadow single: I don't have too many eyeshadow singles because I literally hoard palettes lol, but I have a handful of Colourpop eyeshadows which are singles and my absolute favorite is Fringe for all over the lid. It is a beautiful metallic cashmere color. I've put a pretty good dent in it so far.
Nail Polish: I've been wearing a ton of different nail polish lately, but I am obsesssseddd with mint green. I have a few mint green nail polishes, but this nail polish is just the perfect mint green. This is Essie's Mint Candy Apple.

Lipstick: This has to be YSL #10 Beige Tribute. It is the perfect pinky-nude. I've used this a few times, but I try to use it sparingly because I don't want to run out! The packaging on this is just on point, too! #allgoldeverything
Blush: I have quite a few blushes and it was hard to choose from, but I narrowed it down to NARS Douceur. The color is hard to describe. It's like a nude, peachy, pink color. I think it gives a beautiful natural look, great for no-makeup-makeup days!

Foundation: I love love love Estee Lauder Double Wear Foundation, but I've only tried a sample of it, so I can't really include it in here. So lately I've been loving the Maybelline Fit Me Matte & Poreless. It seriously makes my skin look flawless. Only down side is it will cling to dry patches if you have any so I would just suggest exfoliating like crazy before using this bad boy.

Two items I would buy over and over again: If I ever ran out of my Maybelline Fit Me Concealer or The Balm Marylou-Manizer, I would definitely repurchase them! Two holy grails. Marylou-manizer is a highlighter that just makes your skin POP. Ugh I dieeeee when I use this beauty because it's just so gorgeous on the skin. The Maybelline Fit Me Concealer is a great consistency. It's not too watery and it's not too thick to the point where you can't blend it.
Mascara: This one was sooo hard for me because I really love my L'Oreal Voluminous mascara, but Urban Decay's Perversion just plumps out my lashes to no extent. The brush on this mascara is unlike any other mascara brush I've ever used before. This is a huge YES in my book. And in my personal opinion, better than the Too Faced Better Than Sex mascara.

Eyeshadow palette: This is hands down my Lorac Pro Mega (or is it Mega Pro? I can never get it right!) I think Lorac has one of the best eyeshadow palettes. They are pigmented, have beautiful colors, and last long on the eyes. I chose this over my Lorac Pro 1 or Lorac Pro 2 because it has such a variety of shades. I know this was limited edition, so I'm sorry for including it, but I just had to!

Bronzer/Powder: I forgot to photograph my favorite bronzer, but it would have been Too Faced's Milk Chocolate Soleil! It smells amazing and it gives me the perfect bronze for my fair skin.

I tag the following ladies:

And if anyone else is interested, feel free to join in on this tag :)

Too Faced Little Black Book of Bronzers

Want that sun kissed look for Summer? The Too Faced Little Black Book of Bronzers is now available Ulta! You can now find it at Ulta for $49.

It has 8 bronzers in it including: Chocolate Soleil, Milk Chocolate Soleil, Dark Chocolate Soleil, Snow Bunny, Pink Leopard, Beach Bunny, Endless Summer, and Sun Bunny.

This is definitely something I would get if I didn't already have 4 of the shades. What are your thoughts on this? Like it, love it, hate it?

High End Fresh Face

My previous post showed you makeup products to achieve an Affordable Fresh Face from the drugstore but for all you high end junkies, here's some high end makeup products to achieve the same look. All of these products can be found at Sephora or on their website. Again, this is the order I would typically apply my own makeup, so feel free to apply your makeup in the order you feel comfortable with.

First prime your face with either a brightening/illuminating primer or the Smashbox Primer Water would be very refreshing especially on a warm day.
Next, apply your foundation. I suggest a luminous foundation rather than a matte foundation to give you that dewy glow. This is the Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk foundation that everyone swears by.
After that, apply your concealer (one to two shades lighter than your foundation) under your eyes to brighten up the under eye. If you want to highlight other areas of your face as well, highlight your chin, your cupids bow, the bridge of your nose, and your forehead. This is the infamous NARS Radiant Creamy concealer.
To bronze your face, you don't necessarily have to use a matte bronzer because matte bronzers are used for contouring, but when you're bronzing the face you can use either matte or shimmery bronzers. So use whichever bronzer you want just to give some warmth to your face. This is the Too Faced Sunny Bunny Natural Bronzer.
Then to add some color to your face, add a small amount of blush. This is the Tarte blush in the shade Dollface. I love light pink blushes for natural looks, especially on fair skin.
To add some glow to your face, add Becca's Skin Perfector in Opal. This color looks good on so many different skin tones.
To give your eyes some definition, add a coat or two of mascara. My favorite is the Urban Decay Perversion mascara.

To make your eyes look more open and wide awake, apply a nude eyeliner on your lower lash line. This one is this Ardency Inn Modster eyeliner.
Fill your brows in to frame your face. You can go for a more natural look by just running some Anastasia brow gel through them or you can actually fill them in with the Anastasia Brow Wiz.

Set your makeup with the Urban Decay Chill Makeup Setting Spray to give you a flawless, dewy look and lock your makeup in place.

Last, apply a natural looking lipstick. I would suggest either a nude, a light pink, or a mauve color. This is the NARS Audacious lipstick in Anita.
What are your favorite high end makeup products to use for a fresh face?
