Lorac Mega Pro 3 Palette Review & Comparison

For those of you that haven't heard of the brand Lorac, run out and grab one of their Pro palettes, even if it isn't this one. Honestly their eye shadows are always my go to. I truly don't reach for ANY of my other eyeshadow palettes except for these because they're that good. They're pigmented, buttery and super blendable. By far my favorite formula, I don't think any other brand holds a candle to their pro eye shadows. So what is the Mega Pro palette you ask? Lorac comes out with these Mega Pro palettes during the holidays each year that are twice the size of their original Pro palettes with 32 shadows rather than 16. Their original Pro palettes have 2 rows of 8 shadows and as pictured below, the Mega Pro has 4 rows of 8 shadows. The top two rows are matte shadows and the bottom two rows are shimmery. It retails for $59 which if you divide that by the 32 shadows that are in the palette, that makes each individual shadow only $1.85 a piece which is such a steal! The regular Pro palettes are $44 so for $15 more you get an extra 16 shadows!
I personally love the shade selection they choose because they tend to put a lot of wearable colors as well as neutrals and I'm a neutral kind of gal so they're right up my alley.
Below is the Mega Pro collection. The first one is the burgundy and gold packaging, the second one is the cobalt and silver, and the third is the white and rose gold. I personally love the packaging on these, the only down side is the material of them, which is like a rubbery feeling that's really hard to describe, gets dirty pretty quickly, but otherwise they're stunning.
Below is a picture of all 3 palettes and you can see they're pretty similar but me being a makeup collector and how much I love their shadows, I can never pass up these limited edition palettes. I personally thing they're worth every penny and I definitely get my use out of them.

What's New? | NYX and Makeup Geek

I just got an email from NYX with information on a new "to-go" palette! There are 6 eyeshadows, a bronzer, a blush, and a highlight! How incredibly awesome is this for traveling and better yet, a drugstore purchase ?! The downside is they are $17 a piece which if you think about it, isn't too awful because you're getting 9 different products in one palette so that's roughly $1.89 a piece. The neutral one is called Wanderlust and the more colorful one is Bon Voyage. This is now available on the NYX website.

Also, something amazing has come about. @MakeupGeekTV on Instagram posted these sneak peek pictures. It appears they are branching out from just shadows and brushes. They are now working on what they're calling Cashmere Lip Creams! Sounds to me like liquid lipsticks. And my goodness these colors look beautiful!

New Anastasia Beverly Hills Palette

There's something new on Sephora's website and it's pretty interesting if I do say so. This is the Anastasia Beverlg Hills Artist Palette. It is a limited edition palette and retails for $30 and it also includes a brush. These are beautiful bright summer colors, but not something I could personally see myself buying. What are your thoughts? Like it, love it, need it, hate it?

They're also coming out with a new trio of powders called "Selfie Powders" which is supposed to give you a "filtered" look such as the filters on Instagram.

Urban Decay: Lips & Eyes

WARNING: This is going to be a super long post, so I apologize in advance. Prepare yourself!
This post is all about Urban Decay products. I was just going to post what I got from Urban Decay for Christmas, but I decided to make it a post of everything I have from Urban Decay. The main thing I usually tend to purchase from Urban Decay is their palettes, so you will see a lot of those!
I figured I would start off with the most talked about palettes since I can remember. I've had these palettes for - I can't even tell you how long, it's been THAT long. The Naked palette was the first "prestige" palette I have ever purchased. It's actually the first prestige item I've ever purchased. I tend to tell people that these palettes are overhyped (because I do believe they are) but after swatching them for the first time in a long time, I realized why they're so hyped about. Everyone knows I'm a sucker for Lorac shadows because of the texture and how blendable they are, but you can see in the swatches that these shadows are extremely pigmented! Also, all three come with brushes which I think is a great addition. I know there's been a lot of talk about a 4th one coming out and even some fakes that people have made, so I'm anxious to see if they actually do come out with a 4th one. Regardless, these are great neutral palettes and I think every makeup junkie should own them. The one I personally tend to reach for the most is the first Naked palette.
Naked Palette
L to R: Virgin, Sin, Naked, Sidecar, Buck, Half Baked, Smog, Dark Horse, Toasted, Hustle, Creep, Gunmetal
Naked 2 Palette
L to R: Foxy, Half Baked, Booty Call, Chopper, Tease, Snake Bite, Suspect, Verve, YDK, Busted, Blackout
Naked 3 Palette
L to R: Strange, Dust, Burnout, Limit, Buzz, Trick, Nooner, Liar, Factory, Mugshot, Dark Side, Black Heart
Urban Decay Perversion Mascara
I know there is a ton of talk about Too Faced's Better Than Sex mascara, but honestly, UD Perversion takes the cake for me. The brush is so fluffy and unlike any mascara applicator I've ever felt and it gives me beautiful, full lashes. This is one of the products I had on my "Worth The Splurge" guest post on Bellynim's blog because I definitely do think it's worth the splurge.
Vice 3 Palette
I had a hard time deciding whether or not this palette was worth buying. I don't own Vice 1 or 2 so I really wasn't sure how to feel about this one. It took me almost 3 months to decide on getting this and it was sold out online and in most stores, except my Ulta. Thankfully they were stocked with like 6 of these babies so I decided, why not? And I'm not disappointed. Pigmented, great range of colors including neutrals, and just a pretty palette all around. The color that really drew me in was Alchemy - such a gorgeous burgundy shade! UGH! The names of the shadows are hilarious, too; very clever. It has a large mirror to do your makeup and a dual ended brush also comes with it.
First & Second Row
L to R: Truth, Dragon, Vanity, Alien, Last Sin, Undone, Freeze, Lucky, Alchemy, and Angel
Third & Fourth Row
L to R: Downfall, Heroine, Reign, Bondage, Defy, DTF, Brokedown, Bobby Dazzle, Sonic, Revolver
Vice LTD Palette
This little bugger was such a struggle for me to get! It was available to Sephora's VIB Rouge members back in August or September and I was not Rouge at the time so I couldn't get my hands on it. Plus it sold out within like an hour! Crazy makeup junkies like myself jumped on it! Then they announced that they were going to come out with it again in November at 4 AM EST, so me being the makeup addict that I am, I stayed up until 4 AM.....and no release. They later announced that it was being re-scheduled until December at 4 AM my time again, so I stayed up until 4 AM on the new release date. Then there was some kind of loop hole you had to go through to get this. Instead of just adding it to your cart, it wouldn't let you. So I had to scroll all the way to the bottom of the page and when I clicked on Quick Shop it worked! Needless to say, I slayed dragons to get this palette lol. The packaging is just adorable. It is a lime green/yellow-ish color with a jeweled UD logo on the front. It is very sturdy and has a large mirror just like the Vice 3 which is great for doing your makeup and the colors are just phenomenal! The 2 colors that really drew me to this palette were Crystal and Provocateur which are just a very pretty blue and pink color. Just a gorgeous palette overall! If you missed the release, it will be re-releasing at Ulta and on their website on January 25th! Mark your calendars because these WILL sell out fast.
First & Second Row:
L to R: Nameless, Back Door, Deeper, Disco, Heat, Crystal, Goddess, Vaporize, Floss, Perversion
Third & Fourth Row:
L to R: Provocateur, HooDoo, Freakshow, Junkshow, Blitz, Chase, Last Sin, Roadstripe, Anonymous, Laced
Urban Decay Shadow Box
This was pretty much an impulse buy. I was standing in line at checkout at Ulta awhile back and this was in front of my face so I picked it up lol. That's usually how it goes. I debated on taking it back a few times because it really just didn't appeal to me, but after re-swatching the shadows, I actually really love it. This does not come with a brush, but the packaging is small enough for traveling and it has a magnetic close so you don't have to worry about it opening and getting it all over the place.

L to R: Sin, Indo, Bordello, Tornado, Smog, Black Out, Lash, Mushroom, Lost, Free Love, Moonshadow, Baked Cowboy
Urban Decay Lipstick Stash (Mini)
This was my first lipstick purchase from them because I wanted to try them out first before I committed and I'm glad I did because I got to try 6 different colors. I can honestly say that these are in my top 3 favorite lipstick formulas next to NARS Audacious lipsticks and Bite Beauty lip products. They are so creamy and pigmented it is unreal. The swatches below are only one swipe. It's just incredible and I'm in love. I definitely suggest their Revolution Lipsticks to anyone who is interested in trying new lipsticks.

L to R: Liar, Illicit, Ladyflower, Crush, Gash, F-Bomb
Again, I apologize for the crazy long post, I just have so many things from Urban Decay. I hope you enjoyed, though :)

Unboxing: Swap

I met a wonderful person on Makeup Social and we became extremely good friends. Her name is Caitlin and we text every day, but the only downside is she lives in Texas whereas I'm in North Carolina. So that part sucks. But we agreed to do a birthday makeup swap since her birthday was in December and mine was this month.

I sent her package out which she received earlier this week and I just received mine today. I sent her a mini Glamglow mask, a travel sized Better Than Sex Mascara, a mini lipstick bag, a few samples, and the Tartelette palette :) She loved the Tartelette palette which I'm sooo happy about. I was nervous she wouldn't like what I sent! But thank goodness she did.

Both of our boyfriends seem to think it's a good idea for us to fly to each other. They're always asking us if we're talking to our girlfriend which I find hilarious (I think they're just jealous haha). But in all honesty like this girl gets me, especially when it comes to makeup. We honestly just need to start picking up two of everything and send each other the other item because I love everything she gets and vice versa. Anyway! Now that you have some background on that, I'll get to the good stuff.

When I opened the box, my initial reaction was "OMG NO WAY, AHHH NO WAY!" I was seriously so excited. After I opened everything, I ran upstairs to my boyfriend saying "Babe, babe! Look what my girlfriend got me! It's like Christmas all over again!"

Here is what she sent me:

(By the way, the budget was $50 and she went waaaay over!)

The first Lorac Pro palette which I was so excited about because I have the 2nd and the Mega Pro, but not the first...until now! So now my little Lorac Pro family is complete :)
A microfiber hair wrap which I thought was pretty cool. I've never seen one of these before so this should be interesting!

I posted on Makeup Social that I didn't know which shade to get for the Estee Lauder Double Wear Foundation: Ecru or Fresco and this darling of a person went out and got me samples! She also got me a Becca blush in Damselfly which is such a pretty color, I can't wait to use it! The little tube in the left hand corner is the Lorac primer that came with the palette. There is also a pink mini spray bottle (she finds the coolest things!), the metal rainbow thing is a depotting tool, a mini mascara, and a Makeup Geek fluffy brush. And my favorite item from her is the YSL Lipstick in #10. I told her I wanted this lipstick so bad and she told me she picked up a few of the YSL lipsticks but left this one out so this was a total surprise!
Thank you so, so much, Caitlin! This was such a great package to come home to :) It definitely made my day! I have a feeling we will definitely be doing this again in the near future ;)
