Milani Amore Matte Lip Cream Review

Hey babes! I'm back again with another review for all of you. So Milani (a drugstore brand with high end quality) has recently come out with somethng almost every makeup company has been releasing, liquid lipsticks. They have made these limited edition and they are called Amore Matte Lip Creams. It was rumored these were exclusive to Walgreens, but honestly I went to 3 Walgreens to hunt these bad boys down and none of my Walgreens even carried the brand! So luckily, I finally ended up finding all 8 at CVS!

So I ended up picking up Adore, Beloved, Lust, and Embrace and now that I have those I reaaaalllyyy want Desire and Romance to add those to my collection. These were $5.99 a piece at CVS and on the Milani website they are proced at $8.99 so my suggestion would be to pick them up at your local drugstore and save yourself some money.

So lets talk packaging. As you can see from the picture above, they are clear packaging with a gold cap - um yes. Thank you Milani for always sticking with the gold. I am obsessed. Not only that but they aren't in a round tube like most liquid lipsticks, they're in a square tube which I actually prefer so I think they did awesome on that.

So now down to the nitty gritty - the colors and formula. As far as the colors, I really just wish they had more nudes and pinks to choose from. The nudes they have are a little too brown for my liking and the only pink they have is a little too dark for an everyday color on my skintone, but they're gorgeous nonetheless. They definitely have the dark, vampy colors down to a T so they don't need any more of those. The formula is pretty much your standard liquid lipstick. It's not a mousse-like texture, just straight up liquid. I do recommend putting on a lip balm before applying these, because of the fact that they're matte, of course they can be drying. But personally I think they feel really comfortable on the lips. I also tried the kiss test to make sure it doesn't transfer and they passed with flying colors. These babies don't budge even when trying to take them off I absolutely have to use an oil because water or a makeup remover is just simply not enough. They have pretty good longevity but they tend to crumble/fade on the inner rim of the lips after awhile like any other liquid lipstick. Honestly, these are definitely worth the try especially for the $5.99 price point as opposed to $20 on a prestige brand. These are a yes in my book. I just hope they come out with more neutral colors.

March/April Favorites

It's been quite some time since I've done a favorites post, but here are the products I've been loving for the last month and a half!

Maybelline Matte Lipstick in Lust For Blush: I picked up the infamous Divine Wine and I decided to try a pink from their matte collection and this is the one I went with. I never saw swatches so when I brought it home and opened the tube I was a bit disappointed and didn't think I would like it on my skin tone. I was pleasantly surprised when I tried it on and I fell in love. It is such a beautiful color and perfect for Spring time.

Bobbi Brown Pink Glow Highlighter: This beauty was a limited edition item (I'm sorry!) but it is just absolutely gorgeous on the skin. I thought I had a bad batch when I received it because as you can see, it's very patchy with pink and white, but I was told it is supposed to be that way. This highlighter literally gives me liffeeeeeee!

Tarte Lights Camera Lashes Mascara: There was a lot of hype about the Too Faced Better Than Sex mascara and I wasn't all that impressed with it. I've also heard some hype on this mascara so I was a little hesitant on trying this one. I did really like it, though and it has been my go-to lately, especially for those no-makeup-makeup days.

Boscia Makeup-Breakup Cool Cleansing Oil: I've mentioned this and had a whole review and demo on this baby. It is just the best at removing makeup and it is so gentle. It doesn't tug, burn, or leave any residue. I will definitely be repurchasing this baby one it runs out. I know it looks like it's still full, but that's because it's laying down. I promise it's sadly almost gone lol.

Too Faced Milk Chocolate Soleil Bronzer: This bronzer is perfect for fair skin babes like myself. The original Chocolate Soleil is a bit too dark for me so it can easily look muddy on me, but this one is just beautiful.

Tarte Tartelette Palette: I'm sure you're all tired of hearing about this darn palette. It's pretty much everyone's go-to palette, including my own. I love the matte shades and the neutrals, plus the packaging is adorable!

NYX Buttergloss in Éclair: I'm not big on glosses, but lately on days where I don't wear a full face of makeup, I'll throw this baby on and it gives my lips a little life. It adds just enough color and shine to complete my look.

Estee Lauder Double Wear Foundation in Ecru: You're all probably wondering, if this is one of your favorites, why isn't there and Estee Lauder Double Wear in the picture? Well, there is lol. It's the small little sample sized bottle. I haven't run out of it yet and I've been using it like crazy. So once this baby runs out I'll be picking up a full sized bottle.

Milani Rose Blush in Romantic Rose: Can we just talk about the detail on this blush? Dear lawwwdd. The color is perfect for Spring, but blush can be tricky if it's too pigmented. You don't want to look like you just dipped your brush and packed it on. So a light hand it the trick with this one and you'll end up looking airbrushed.

Liquid Liner Craze

Looking for a new liquid liner? NYX has 3 new ones available on their website, each $7 a piece and they are claiming to give "ultra fine lines"! They have a matte finish, vinyl and white. Matte liner is definitely a huge trend right now so kudos to NYX for always knowing what their customers want! I am definitely a NYX lover and I am excited to try the matte liner. Which ones are you interested in ?!

This gorgeous, all matte palette by Too Faced is now available at Ulta! This is my kind of palette; all matte and all neutrals ?! Um, yes please! What are your thoughts on this palette? Love it, hate it, like it?

Makeup Monday: Me Now Lip Gloss

Lately I've been noticing the new trend for lips are the liquid to matte glosses. Kat Von D has her line, Lime Crime has their Velveteens, and one I recently stumbled upon through MakeupSocial is Me Now. You can find these on eBay or Amazon for a little over a dollar a piece! Yes, I said a dollar, as in singular, as in ONE dollar. But for the price, are they good quality? That is the question...

I've actually seen people rave over these on MakeupSocial so I'm betting they're worth a try and for a dollar, who wouldn't at least try them? The only downside to purchasing these inexpensive lippies is the wait time. It can take up to a month to recieve! So if you're someone that's patient then go for it! I purchased three of them myself. I got #22, #28, and  #33. I'm still waiting on them, though, so unfortunately I don't have a review for you beauties just yet. But in the mean time, if you're curious, go onto eBay and type in "lip gloss" and it should be one of the first 10 that pop up.

Have any of you tried these before? If so, what are your thoughts?!
