Stila Liquid Eyeshadow Review: Glitter On The Go Set

Sephora has a Stila gift set on their website called Glitter On The Go Set for ($25) and Sephora claims it is a $36 value. It comes with 3 Stila Liquid Eyeshadows in the following shades:

  • Rose Gold Retro
  • Smoldering Satin
  • Kitten Karma
L - R (Rose Gold Retro, Smoldering Satin, Kitten Karma)

Shades in the Set
Rose Gold Retro - This shade to me has like a burnt reddish undertone with rose gold
Smoldering Satin - This shade is so hard to describe, it reminds me of metal but has like reflects of different almost purple shades. It reminds me of an edgy smoky eye.
Kitten Karma - This one is my favorite. It's like a light gold, champagne shade. Their original kitten eye shadow was very popular when I first started - for obvious reasons - it's stunning, so I'm glad they made this shade into one of their liquid eyeshadows.

Packaging & Product Review
These are all less than 1 oz each, (0.07 oz) to be exact. The packaging is very modern with a rectangular clear plastic tube and a matte gold twist off cap. When you twist off the cap, it is connected to a wand with a dual sided doe-foot applicator. There is very little fall out, but it definitely has some fall out. So I can't state that it has no fallout what-so-ever. But the colors are so pigmented and stunning. As the name states, they are Glitter Liquid Eyeshadows, so of course there is glitter.

The set is a great way to try them out and test out the colors to see which ones are your favorite but 0.07 oz isn't really much. I've used the Kitten Karma twice, maybe, three times and I can already see the product emptying. Overall on a scale of 5 stars, I would give this set a 4. I'd deduct half a point for the minor fallout and half a point for the amount of product.

How to Apply & When to Wear
After twisting off the cap and pulling out the wand with the applicator, you want to set it on the location you want the product to apply to using swiping motions inward to outward. For example, if you want it on your lid - start at the inner corner and swipe towards your outer corner. This is definitely a product where once you place it, it's not coming off so you'll need to be careful and really only place the product where you want it. I've learned the hard way it's not really something you can blend away without getting glitter all over the rest of your lid. But once it's on where you want it, it's STUNNING.

These are perfect for a night out or a special occasion to make your eyes really stand out. Or heck - even if you want to rock it on a regular day for no reason at all. When I wear these I've gotten multiple compliments on my eyes. Personally, I would only wear these if I were going out or on a special occasion because they're very pigmented. On my normal day-to-day I like to keep a minimal makeup look. But more power to you if you like to rock the bold on a daily.

My Wedding Makeup

As you can tell from the title and my last post, I recently got married! I wanted to share with you the products I used on my wedding day to achieve my makeup look. I decided to do my makeup myself because 1. I was in a different country, 2. didn't have time for a trial, 3. didn't trust anyone else with my makeup or hair. For my hair I went super simple of just curling it and pinning up one side. The curls fell out super quick due to how hot it was!

I really wanted something very soft and glowy for the skin so I went with what is now my holy grail foundation - NARS Natural Radiant Longwear. I bought this foundation specifically for the wedding the day before we left and ending up falling in love with it. I wanted something that is exactly how the name describes it - natural, radiant, and long wearing. The finish on this is stunning; it truly is a "my skin but better" foundation. I would highly recommend it if you have normal to dry skin. To highlight my under eyes, I went with a shade lighter because I didn't want it to be too bright so I actually used the L'Oreal Pro-Glow foundation in the shade 203 Nude Beige and then set it with Laura Mercier setting powder

For the brows, I used my normal Anastasia Brow Wiz in Taupe (I suck at doing my brows) Always room for improvement. I wanted the eyes to be the center of attention so I did gold glitter on the lid with Stila's liquid eyeshadow in Kitten to match our color scheme of blush pink and gold. I swept some light brown shades in the crease to blend it and a cream color for the brow bone. And to top off the eyes, for mascara I went with Tarte Lights Camera Splashes because I knew I needed something waterproof for the happy tears! I wanted to put on lashes initially but didn't have time (yes I was running late on my wedding day - are you surprised?) so I skipped the lashes and just stuck with the mascara.

I paired the eye look with a nude lip from YSL in the shade 10 Beige Tribute. I really wanted a different color but I was running short on time and the photographer and videographer were there so I literally just grabbed whichever lipstick was in front of me. I didn't even have time to use a lip liner!

For bronzing I used the Kat Von D Shade and Light palette. This is my go to palette for traveling. I didn't want to go super heavy handed on the bronzer because I wanted it to still look natural although I wish I would've went slightly heavier because you can barely tell I have bronzer on at all. The highlighter I used was Becca's Champagne Pop which I swear I put on like 4 layers, I wanted to GLOW.

What products did you use on your wedding day? Or which ones would you use for your future wedding?

Empties: Makeup Edition

I've been hoarding empty products for quite some time now between makeup, hair care, skin care and bath & body. Sometimes I threw empty products away without thinking so trust me this isn't all of
it lol. But for those of you that don't know what an "empties" post is, basically it's a post about all the products you've used up completely that are well, empty, and if you'd repurchase them. So I'm going to talk to you about these makeup products below in depth and give mini reviews and let you know if I would repurchase them! Stay tuned because I have 3 more empties posts coming your way in the other categories !
Pictured above: Hourglass Mineral Veil Primer, Too Faced Born This Way Foundation, Makeup Forever HD Foundation, Stila One Step Correct Primer, 2 Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz Pencils, Hard Candy Glamoflauge Concealer, Urban Decay Primer Potion Eye Primer, and 3 L'Oreal Lumi Cushion Foundations
Hourglass Mineral Veil Primer: I've gone through like 6 bottles of these already. This is my holy grail primer. I have yet to find a primer to live up to this one. It just smooths out my skin and makes it feel like silk and makes my foundation just glide on. Another thing this primer is good for is making your makeup last long. I will forever repurchase this product.
Too Faced Born This Way Foundation: I really loved the fact this foundation is full coverage and it has a beautiful satin/dewy finish. The only downfall is they have very yellow undertoned shades. I haven't tried the 2 lightest shades that came out after they launched the foundation but after seeing swatches they, too, look to be very yellow based unfortunately. I think I'll give the lighter shades a go again in the near future because I really loved this formula.
Makeup Forever HD Foundation: I tried this foundation after MUFE reformulated it and everyone used to rave about the old formula but they weren't entirely impressed with this one and I don't blame them. It was light-medium coverage and I'm a full coverage kind of gal so I'll have to pass on repurchasin this. The only thing I absolutely loved about this foundation is the shade. It's literally my perfect shade. If I could get this shade in every brand's formula I would in a heartbeat!
Stila One Step Correct Primer: I really liked this primer as you can tell there's not even a drop left! I just felt like it evened my skin tone and corrected the slight redness I have. I didn't really notice it making a difference in the longevity of my makeup but I used this in conjunction with my hourglass primer and it made a difference.
Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz: Another one of my holy grail products. I will forever and a day repurchase this. Forever and ever amen! I've tried other brow pencils similar to this but the formulas just don't compare. This is the OG, numero uno.
Hard Candy Glamoflauge: If you're looking for a heavy duty concealer, this is for you. I used this to cover up redness and you only need the smallest amount because it's so full coverage so this lasted me quite awhile. I would repurchase this.
Urban Decay Primer Potion Eye Primer: Honestly I've had this for so long I think it's in my empties because it's just old and was time to toss it. I've only used it a few times and wasn't super impressed by it so I'll pass on repurchasing. It didn't really make a significant different in my eyeshadow application or the longevity.
L'Oreal Lumi Cushion Foundation: Can you tell whether I'd repurchase this or not? Lol. This is my favorite drugstore foundation thus far. The finish is dewy but not that greasy dewy, it's medium to buildable coverage

I'll be posting my bath & body empties next so stay tuned ;)

Lorac Mega Pro 3 Palette Review & Comparison

For those of you that haven't heard of the brand Lorac, run out and grab one of their Pro palettes, even if it isn't this one. Honestly their eye shadows are always my go to. I truly don't reach for ANY of my other eyeshadow palettes except for these because they're that good. They're pigmented, buttery and super blendable. By far my favorite formula, I don't think any other brand holds a candle to their pro eye shadows. So what is the Mega Pro palette you ask? Lorac comes out with these Mega Pro palettes during the holidays each year that are twice the size of their original Pro palettes with 32 shadows rather than 16. Their original Pro palettes have 2 rows of 8 shadows and as pictured below, the Mega Pro has 4 rows of 8 shadows. The top two rows are matte shadows and the bottom two rows are shimmery. It retails for $59 which if you divide that by the 32 shadows that are in the palette, that makes each individual shadow only $1.85 a piece which is such a steal! The regular Pro palettes are $44 so for $15 more you get an extra 16 shadows!
I personally love the shade selection they choose because they tend to put a lot of wearable colors as well as neutrals and I'm a neutral kind of gal so they're right up my alley.
Below is the Mega Pro collection. The first one is the burgundy and gold packaging, the second one is the cobalt and silver, and the third is the white and rose gold. I personally love the packaging on these, the only down side is the material of them, which is like a rubbery feeling that's really hard to describe, gets dirty pretty quickly, but otherwise they're stunning.
Below is a picture of all 3 palettes and you can see they're pretty similar but me being a makeup collector and how much I love their shadows, I can never pass up these limited edition palettes. I personally thing they're worth every penny and I definitely get my use out of them.

Too Faced Melted Lipstick Dupe

Too Faced Melted Lipsticks are really popular in the makeup community as well as their new liquid matte lipsticks, but they can get a little expensive. They are priced at $21 a piece. Luckily for those of you on a budget that want the shades of the Too Faced Melted lipsticks, there are 2 dupes for nude/pink shades that I think you guys are going to love! The dupes are from Maybelline from their Color Jolt lipsticks which are priced at $7.70 a piece. Thats a $13.30 difference! You can basically get 3 Maybelline Color Jolts for the price of one Too Faced Melted.
So lets first compare packaging. Both are in squeezy tubes, the Too Faced ones are just a little longer and slimmer. Another difference is the gold details on the Too Faced tubes.
The applicators are also super similar. The only difference is the Too Faced one (top) has multiple tiny holes that the product comes out of and the Maybelline one (bottom), as you can tell in the picture, has one where the product comes out. The formulas are also very similar. I would say the Maybelline is a little bit thicker than the Too Faced.
Above are swatches and you can see the similarities. L to R is Too Faced Nude, Maybelline Stripped Down, Too Faced Peony, Maybelline Never Bare. There are slight difference as Stripped Down is a little darker than Nude and Peony is slightly darker than Never Bare. Still I would consider these to be dupes because of how close they are. Below is a picture of the swatches without natural lighting.

Ulta Haul: Makeup, Skincare, Haircare

I went into Ulta for 2 things and came out with all of this... Story of my life lol

I've been loving my DryBar dry shampoo and dey conditioner but I heard the Living Proof dry shampoo was lifeeee so I decided to pick up a travel size plus I got this travel size freebie as a gift with my purchase!
This is one of the things I actually went into Ilta for lol. These are the under eye gel mask. PTR has gold ones but I heard they dont do anything special they're just like any other ones plus theyre super expensive so I decided to pick these up because ot was only $15 and you get 4 sets. I'm excited to try these. Has anyone tried them before?
The hydrating masks are repurchases. I love hydrating sheet masks and my dry skin needs them lol. These also came with a free gift which is another sheet mask so I thought that was awesome.
These I purchased based on a recommendation. I posted on Facebook I would be doing a haul and one of the girls said to pick these up, so of course I picked up the 2 nudes from the collection. I actually heard these are dupes for the Too Faced Melted lipsticks so I'll be doing swatches for you in another post!
FI-NA-LLY! I have wanted this bronzer since it came out and I finally purchased it. I seriously cannot wait to try this. I know I'm so late on the bandwagon with this one but I hope it's worth the hype. As a first impression I'm not 100% sure that I'll love it because I noticed it does have some shimmer in it and I like my bronzers to be matte, but we'll have to see!
This was a re-stock. I took this on vacation with me and by the time I got back it was gone. Once I run out of this one I'll have to purchase the full size. I LOVE this body butter.
This is also a restock as I ran out of my kiwi one. I wanted to try a different scent this time and I loveeee mangos so that was an easy decision lol.

I also purchased 2 bath bombs (the second item I went to Ulta for lol). I was debating on getting these or the cupcape bath bomb but these were on sale 2 for $10 and I think the cupcake was $10 alone so I figured I'd get more for my money with this deal. But I definitely want to try to cupcake bath bomb soon!
And lastly I ran out of shampoo and conditoner so I had to pick some up. I have never heard of this brand but the packaging caught my eye and it's sulfate free so I had to pick it up! My hair is dry and damaged which I why I purchased this specific one but they have shampoo and conditioner for all hair types.

Sephora & Ulta Travel Haul

If you've seen my previous post, you know I'll be traveling and I've picked up a few necessities I'll need to take with me on the trip! My previous post was the clothing I hauled for the trip and this post is for the cosmetic products I hauled.

Clinique Beyond Perfecting Foundation & Concealer
After seeing Nicole Guerriero and Casey Holmes rave about this foundation, I HAD to get it. They both love full coverage foundations like myself so if it worked for them I'm praying it works for me too! I'm super excited to test this baby out. I wanted something that was full coverage but would last all day through heat with a natural finish (not matte and not completely dewy either). I will definitely have a full review of this after our vaca! I unfortunately had to order this product because they didnt have my shade in stock anywhere near me so I just got it in today. Here's an update with the pictures!

My birthday gift (6 months late lol)
Soooo my birthday is in January and I JUST got my birthday gift now. A little late, don't you think? But that's the great thing about Sephora, if you haven't had a chance to pick up your birthday gift til months later, they'll still honor it! They usually give two options each year. This year was this Marc Jacobs mini set and there was another choice of a Fresh beauty skin care mini set. I really want that one too, though!

100 Point Perk Hourglass Primer
I love the Hourglass Mineral Veil Primer so I figured I'd give this one a go for a little freebie!

Soap and Glory
I've been hearing non-stop about this company so I figured the best way was to try the travel sizes since I'll be traveling and can't take the full sizes with me on a plane. I always love mini sizes to test out because if I don't like it then I don't feel so bad about wasting a ton of product and if I end up loving it then I can purchase the full size eventually when I run out of the travel size. I picked up the scrub and body butter.

Sun Bum
This is another brand I've heard nothing but good things about. Someone recommended the SunBum chapsticks to me so I had to pick those up. I actually went to Target the one day and they had not one, not two, but THREE trays of them that were completely empty. I was so sad! Then a few days later I went to Ulta and they were stocked! I also wanted to get sunscreen because we'll be outside a lot of the time and have to protect our skin! I used to be the girl with the tanning oil with no SPF what-so-ever but now that I've been into skincare lately I know that SPF is necessary.

NYX Liquid Lipsticks in Satin Ribbon, Baby Doll, and Lace Detail
I've had my eyes on these since they came out and I finally just got around to getting them. They all look SUPER similar in the tube, but I promise they each have different undertones, some slightly darker than others. I know these are pretty popular so I'll have a full review on these after the vaca also to let you all know how the formula is and how they wear.

Mario Badescu Drying Lotion
I have a bad habit of picking at my face so I'm hoping this helps if I just put it on as a spot treatment at night.

Hydrating sheet masks
I knew I wanted sheet masks for hydration but I didn't know which ones were good so I kind of just grabbed the first two I saw that said "hydrating" lol. My skin is super sensitive and dry so it needs hydration. I figured I would wear one on the plane there and one on the way back.

What are your must have products when traveling?

Laura Mercier Mini Haul & Swatches

Laura Mercier is an exquisite high end brand sold at Sephora. I hear so many products that are raved about from this brand. I completely forgot that Sephora was having a VIB/Rouge sale, which is so unlike me. But I purchase these prior to the sale. I should have waited but you know how those impulse buys go...lol.

The number one product that I hear about would have to be the Translucent Setting Powder. All the youtubers use it, I know you've seen it too! A full size (1 oz.) retails for $38. I chose to test out the travel size version first (0.33 oz.) which retails for $23. Let me tell you, this will forever be my holy grail. I won't touch another setting powder and I already want to buy like 7 back ups of the full size. I have tried Makeup Forever HD Setting Powder as well as Tarte's loose setting powder (I forget the name?) but honestly with both of those I still felt my foundation moving throughout the day AND the worst part is they both gave me flashback, you know that ghostly looking white cast in flash photography? Yeah, not a fan! Especially since I'm already like 50 shades of pale. But the Laura Mericer one blew me away. It kept my foundation in place and it didn't make me look like a ghost in pictures. It's also reall great to bake with. It looks like we have a winner!

And the other product I picked up is their new illuminator in Devotion. When I first saw the press release of the picture of the 3 new ones, I knew this was the one I had to get my hands on because of the pearly pink tones. These tones just tend to look good on my fair skin tone. But lord the detail on this product is just so beautiful and the shade is perfection.
I already had the illuminator Indiscretion in my collection so I figured it would be nice to show all of you a comparison so you can get an idea of the different tones. The left one (Indiscretion) is definitely more bronzy and the right one (Devotion) is more pinky. Both are absolutely stunning, though. They do have 2 other shades but I feel like they would be too dark on my skin tone. The only other one I'm considering is Addiction because it looks like a pure gold.

Laura Geller Haul & Review

I've been testing these products out for about 3 weeks now and I've been so anxious to share them with you! Everyone knows Laura Geller's infamous highlighter in Gilded Honey, but they have so many other amazing products than just their highlighters (although I am dying to get my hands on the 2 new ones!) But anyway, here are some more products from the brand that I hope you enjoy reading about :) You can find these products on their website at LauraGeller.com or in Ulta stores or on Ulta's website!

The first product is their Baked Blush-N-Brighten which retails for $28. When I first saw this I thought "oh no, this is NOT going to look good on my fair skin tone". It looked way too dark in the pan, but when I swatched it, ohhhh when I swatched it, I knew I had fallen in love.
As you can see from the top swatch it is very intense, but the bottom swatch is when it's blended and it has this beautiful sheen to it. It blends out to a nice corally, almost berry shade and I feel like this would be perfect for spring and summer because of the coral undertones but also great for fall and winter because of the berry tones. I also think this would look great on any skintone ranging from fair to deep. Fair skin tones would just have to use minimal product and deep skin tones could build it up. The formula is very pigmented and smooth. It's not patchy like other blushes I've tried.

Next are their Pout Perfection lip liners which retail for $18 a piece. The one on the left is in Nude and the one on the right is Cabernet. They are the ones you have to sharpen which is probably the only downside, but the formula makes up for them!
For some reason the swatches look a little patchy but I promise you these lip liners are BOMB. I've been using Nude on it's own without anything else on my lips and it's so comfortable and doesn't dry my lips out like a lot of other lip liners. Probably my favorite lip liners hands down. I have a feeling I'm going to love Cabernet for the Summer!
This is their Waterproof Eyeliner in Caffe Mocha which retails for $20. I don't typically go for brown eyeliners, I'm more of a black eyeliner kind of gal, but I've actually been using this lately and I really like it to smoke out the lower lash line. The smudger on the opposite end is really convenient to smoke it out, too. That way you don't have to dirty another brush and throw it into the pile of brushes you already have to clean.
Next is the Filter Finish which retails for $32. I honestly had NO hopes for this. I saw the multiple bright colors of green, purple, yellow, and orange and my mind automatically said "nope". I know this year is all about color correcting but I didn't see how this was going to color correct. Luckily that's not the purpose of this product. It's a setting powder to basically give you a "filtered" look. I was so pleasantly surprised with the swatch and now I'm hooked. I personally like using this as a highlighter because I'm so fair, the pearly reflects look stunning as a highlight. I think the setting powder way would look great on skin tones deeper than mine. I've seen this on a bunch of youtubers channels and Instagrams lately so I see this being the next big thing. Definitely worth it in my opinion.

This is fhe Spackle Treatment Soothing Primer that retails for $32. Honestly this couldn't have come at a more perfect time. My face has been really red lately and using this before applying my foundation has really helped tone down the redness. I have really sensitive skin so this would be perfect for anyone who gets irritated really easily or has rosacea.
As you can tell in the swatch it has a very prominent green tone to it which helps cancel out redness. I purposefully didn't blend it out all the way but it does blend into your skintone.

These are the Iconic Baked Sculpting Lipsticks that retail for $21 a piece. I love the detailing along the lipstick itself and the packaging feels super luxurious as it is magnetic and pretty heavy. I've actually decided to get rid of all my darker lipsticks because I legit never reach for them. They just don't look that good on my skin tone. The colors are gorgeous, don't get me wrong. I just tend to go for more pinky nudes.

This is the Delectable eyeshadow palette in Delicious Shades of Cool. This retails for $45. I think their eyeshadow forms are unique because they're spherical at the top which I find to be a really cool concept. The shadows are VERY pigmented and I love that they have both matte and shimmer shades in this palette. I'm a very light, neutral kind of girl so I stick with the left side of the palette, although the purples and blues are sooo beautiful. I'm just not that daring to dive into them. I also think it's great that it comes with a dual ended brush for on-the-go purposes.
Last but not least, the infamous highlighters. I've been dying to get my hands on these bad boys and now that I finally have, they came out with 2 new ones! It's sooo hard to keep up with these makeup companies lol. On the right is Ballerina and the left is Gilded Honey. Both stunning, both great formulation. The only complaint I have is the same one everyone else has - the pan size. Each one of these is $26 a piece and the pan size is comparable to that of a MUFE eyeshadow pan. As an eyeshadow, the size is huge. But typically highlighters tend to be larger. I don't tend to run through highlighters all that often because I have so many of them, but the price point for the amount of product you get is what gets to me. Regardless though, they're gorgeous and selling off shelves!
