Past Hair Trends

Most of the time, when trends change, you don't really notice it's happening. One day something's really popular and an hour later it's on to the next big thing. It's really interesting to take a look back in time and see what used to be popular then as opposed to what's popular now. Sometimes you have to think to yourself, "What were they thinking?!" and other times you wish the trends would make their way back around, like they always do.

Flappers were popular back in the 1920's with their short bobs.

Finger waves became popular in the 30's which I think is such a classic, pretty way to do hair.

When you think 1940's and 50's, pin up girls with beautiful victory rolls come to mind. Marilyn Monroe is an icon that comes to mind when 1950's are mentioned.

In the 60's, they must have believed the quote, "The higher the hair, the closer you are to heaven" because beehive hair was super popular. Thankfully that faded.

A middle part with either pin straight or wavy hair was popular in the 70's and sometimes the "hippies" would throw on a headband.

In the 80's it was all about teased hair with tons and tons of hair spray, think Madonna. I am so glad I missed that era.

The 90's was Jennifer Aniston's year to shine with her famous "Rachel" hair cut that everyone wish they could get.

I personally think of Kim Kardashian when I think of the 2000's with the big, loose curls and a middle part.

My favorite hairstyles are from the 40's, 50's, and 2000's.

Which were your favorite years?

Friday Favorites

Happy Friday my beautiful people! I'm just going to jump right into today's post, so here you go!

Side note: I do not own any of these photos (they were all obtained through Pinterest)

This look is fabulous! From the contour to the berry lip and the eyeliner. Just FAB! I've been so into the berry colors this Fall and this is just the perfect color lippie. I wish I knew what it was :(

This skirt caught my eye. The pattern is intriguing and the folds off of the top making it somewhat of a peplum skirt just makes it that much cuter! I need this in my closet! NOW.

I've always been weary on pleather leggings in fear it would look like Sandy from Grease (LOL) but this look is so cute and paired well with a comfortable flowy top! I love the black and nude together, too. (Sorry for the grainy/blurry picture)

This dress is cute, but that's not the reason this is in my favorites. I'm more concerned about that gorgeous gold belt! I've been looking everywhere for one and the only one I can find is half gold in the front and the back is black. I want an all around gold belt similar to this one.

SLAYYYYYY. That is literally all I can say about Kim Kardashian West. Dear LAWDDDD why must you be so perf?! Her makeup? Flawless. Outfit? Flawless. Need I say more? She makes this look classy even with no shirt underneath.

I believe this product has been discontinued from MAC but they need to bring it back! I haven't had a chance to get my hands on it but this is soo pretty. Wouldn't you agree? Perfect highlighter I'd say.

Ever since I switched to the other side, I've been in loveeee with stiletto/almond shape nails. Definitely my fav and this natural look is adorbs! Never going back to square nails!

Over and out babes!

Trend Alert!

Many of you may not know, but I love animals! They're so cute and cuddly I could literally take them all home! But I'm not trying to have a zoo in my home. So unfortunately, I do not have any animals of my own, so I'll continue visiting the zoos and aquariums for now lol.

I'm sure you're all wondering what this has to do with fashion and trends. Well, a huge controversy is animal cruelty in both the fashion industry and the makeup world. I am completely against animal cruelty, so please note I will only buy faux fur and I try to be cautious of cruelty free makeup brands as well.

Lately I've been seeing fur vests and I'm sooooo in love with this look. I know this trend has been around for quite a bit, but I've been seeing it more and more lately. The person that really inspired me was of course, Miss Kim Kardashian West. I know these photos are older, but I saw them on Pinterest and immediately started looking for a vest myself.

(I do not own any of these photos)

The bottom picture of her in the maroon-ish brown dress is the one that really caught my eye. DEAR LAWD! All three photos are gorgeous but this fur vest is the style I was particularly interested in. Now looking at it again, the first picture's vest is adorable to! I looked quite a few places to find the style I was looking for, but I finally found it at H&M! It was sold out for quite some time but I luckily checked back yesterday and they had it stocked in my size and now it's already sold out! Thankfully I gabbed it in time. This vest runs for $39.95 USD and if you subscribe to their emails, you get 20% off of your first order. They also have a black one like this and one that kind of looks like raccoon fur.

This vest paired with either a dress, or a long sleeve shirt and jeans is perfect for the fall and winter weather.

Hope you beauties can get your hands on this when it comes back in stock!

Save the animals and go faux!
