Spring 2015 Style That Needs To Go

I'm well aware styles over the years tend to recycle themselves and make their way back around years later, but this is one blast from the past that should have stayed there. One Spring style for 2015 is the chunky heels which are so 90's and they are just hideous in my opinion. I am definitely not a fan. What is your opinion on these shoes? Are you taking a liking to them or do you wish they would go back to the 90's?

What next, platform shoes like the Spice Girls? Lol make it stop!

Why I Started Blogging...

This is an interesting question that I typically love answering! I used to have a personal blog on Xanga (if any of you are familiar with that - HOLLA!) lol but I've always had a passion for writing; English was always my best subject in school and writing just comes so naturally to me. On top of that, makeup, skincare, beauty, and fashion are other passions of mine so when I decided to start a blog, I decided to combine my two passions together to make GREATNESS! But seriously, I followed a few blogs for a bit before jumping back into the blogging world on a "professional" or "business level" if you will. I debated back and forth whether I should start one or not because I have a HUGE fear of being judged, until one day I let that fear go and just said, excuse my French, but "F it!".

Thankfully I was familiar with the basics of the layout of a blog, I just had to get a feel for it again since it had been so long. So needless to say it wasn't too hard to jump back into it, but learning a whole new program is a learning process and I still learn every day! I started this blog last year in May and the next month I was going to delete it and just stop because I wasn't really noticing any followers or views and I just felt like it was a waste of time if no one was going to read it, but I researched and found out that blogging takes time so I stuck with it and told myself if I got more views the next month that I'd continue blogging and thankfully I did and here I am, still blogging today with a growing number of viewers every single day!

Do I do it because I have to? No! Do I love it? Absolutely. I put in so much time and effort into blogging that one would seriously consider it a full time job. I'm constantly on my social media answering questions, or writing e-mails, or watching YouTube videos, or trying to find out the latest products or trends. It's seriously so much fun to me though that I don't even care how much time I'm spending. Sometimes I'll get so into what I'm doing and forget that I'm a human and have to eat and sleep - yeah, that intense! There are nights that I'm up until 5 am and still have to go to a real life job the next day. That pretty much sucks, but I do it all for you guys because I love it and I love all of you! So thank you so much to those of you that support me and continue to support me because this blog would be useless and non-existent without you all!

If you would like me to write about how to make your blog successful or how to get your blog noticed, please comment below so I can get on that! ;)

Valentine's Day Outfit Guide

Stuck on what to wear for Valentine's Day tomorrow?! Fear no more! Here are some really great outfit ideas for you to get inspired! Whether you're going out on a hot date or staying in home alone, you can find a way to get into the spirit of Valentine's Day!
Spice it up with a red dress. Be vibrant a bold with this outfit! Pair it with some sexy heels and a clutch and you are on your way to a fabulous night while looking fabulous!
When in doubt, a little black dress is always the way to go! It simple, chic, and classy. Put some nude or black heels on and throw on some gold jewelry and your outfit is complete. How easy was that?!
Plan on going out but don't want to be over dressed? A pair of colored jeans, a peplum top, some cute flats, and jewelry will suffice! These looks are so cute and very wearable for anyone wherever you're going.
Still want something a little more casual? If you're going for a more casual look for Valentine's Day but still want to keep the spirit, make it fun by wear a sweater with hearts on it. Also, a t-shirt with hearts on it and a blazer or peacoat on top is adorable too! If you're not really into the hearts, wearing a pink or red top with some jeans will do, too.
Don't have any plans for Valentine's Day? Don't feel bad, not everyone does, and that's okay. But you can still get into the spirit! These slouchy sweaters are perfect for the occasion. Put some black leggings on and some slippers and just lounge around the house all day while looking cute.
I hope you enjoyed these looks! What do you plan on wearing for Valentine's Day?!

This Just In

I didn't see Kylie Jenner's outfit from the Grammys until just now and OH. MY. GOD. SLAY! That's all I can say. She was the best dressed hands down in my eyes. That dress is to DIE for. Just wow. I am seriously speechless. And her makeup is on point as usual. Jeeze!!! View the rest of my opinions on the Best & Worst of the Grammys 2015.

HATe On My Style

I know this post is a little different than what I normally post, but sometimes I have to remind myself this is a beauty AND fashion blog. I feel like I don't post about fashion enough because I'm so wrapped up in the makeup world. But I have recently stumbled upon a company called Fanatics, which is a sports apparel website. Let me tell you, their website has a ton of things for women from jewelry to under garments, scarves, you name it! To get to the sportswear for women, click on the link mentioned above, click on your favorite team, then on the left hand side it will have the category "Shop For" and a list that says "Mens, Ladies, Kids", click on "Ladies" and you will find so many feminine clothes and accessories for that specific team.

This post is going to be about finding a way to fashionably wear their sports hats in a way that can be incorporated in your everyday style. Find your personal fashionable way to wear one of these MLB Hats, NFL Hats or NBA Hats on Fanatics!

I am a sports fanatic myself and a fashionista so this was the perfect combo for me. I couldn't just pick one look because my inner "wanna-be" stylist came out to play so I hope you enjoy the looks I've created! If you're wondering, my personal favorite teams are the New York Yankees, Boston Celtics, and dare I say the New York Giants after the season they've had this year *wahhhhh*.

There are so many different ways to wear a hat and make it look stylish, but it's very rare that we think about throwing a hat on to complete our look as a woman. Well, at least I don't normally think about grabbing a hat to complete my look. But I see so many amazing looks that other females pull off that include a hat and it makes me want to try rockin' the look myself. Here are a few of my favorite looks that include a sports team hat that I will most definitely be incorporating in my every day looks.

**Please note these are original outfits designed by me. Photos owned by Blog Obsessed XO**
This look was inspired by their Women's line of sports wear. I paired Fanatics' NY Giants shirt with their sparkly NY Giants hat, and a matching iPhone 5 case from their New York Giants Ladies section. Throw on a pair of jeans and royal blue heels and this look is complete! This is the perfect outfit for game day.
These two looks were also inspired by their New York Yankees Women's Apparel. The outfit on the left is a sporty look for running or working out. For this look, I used a NY Yankees hat from their MLB Hats.
The outfit on the right is great for a cold day: New York Yankees mesh sweater, a Yankees scarf, jeans, combat boots, and I would definitely wear both of these outfits. I got the shirt, hat,  and scarf from Fanatics' NY Yankees Women's Apparel.

These two looks are pretty simple, every day looks. The outfit on the left is just jeans, chucks, and a varsity jacket accessorized with glasses and a watch. The hat that I chose for this look is a Brooklyn Nets fitted that is black and white to match the color scheme. You can find this in their NBA Hats.
The outfit on the right is just a pair of sweat pants, a crop top, with some Giuseppe Zanotti sneakers. I chose to stay simple with this one as well so I accessorized it with a simple necklace and some earrings. I thought this look would be really cute with a beanie, so the one I chose was a grey and black Oakland Raiders throwback beanie. You can find this hat in their NFL Hats.
These two are still pretty casual looks. The outfit on the left is definitely a summer outfit. A plain white tee with some dark washed denim shorts, brown Tory & Burch sandals accessorized with a gold watch, a Michael Kors cross body bag, a blue scarf and some earrings. I chose this hat because it fits perfectly with this look. I'm loving it :) You can find this hat in their MLB Hats
The outfit on the right is casual, but more on the daring side. A plain white tee with black jeans, white chucks, and an army green jacket accessorized with a gold chain and a camo NY Giants Hat. You can find this hat on their website in their NFL Hats.
These looks are more on the feminine side. The outfit on the left is of course of my favorites because it's the Giants, but this is just a white crop top with a blue scarf, jeans, a red handbag, red stilettos, and of course some red lipstick! Matching the scarf is a blue New York Giants fitted that can be worn with either long straight hair or big, loose curls. You can find this hat in their NFL Hats.

The outfit on the right is so adorable and one of my favorites as well. It is a white cross crop top, jeans, a flannel to tie around the waist, red heels, and a gold chain. I paired this outfit with the Arizona Cardinals fitted. I think this would look nice with some big, loose curls! You can also find this one in their NFL Hats.
The outfit on the left is slouchy black pants paired with a purple crop top, hoop earrings and a necklace to accessorize the look and some purple heels. I chose the LA Lakers fitted because it has just enough purple to go with the outfit. You can find this hat in their NBA Hats
The look on the right is another one of my personal favs. Army green pants, a black bralette (this is the closest I could find to a bralette) a white, flowy shirt to go on top of the black bralette, and a gold chain. I chose a black and gold clutch and black strappy shoes to go with this look. The hat I chose is an Oakland Raiders fitted with a camo brim to match the outfit. You can find this hat in their NFL Hats
These two outfits are two of my absolute favorites. The outfit on the left is a fur lined leather jacket, skinny jeans, and fold over boots. I accessorized this look with a black Michael Kors bag and gold drop earrings. I chose the Classic NY Yankees fitted to go with this look because I think it would look nice with either long straight hair or long loose curls. You can find this hat in their MLB Hats.
The outfit on the right is a low cut, flowy white shirt paired with jeans, Timberland boots, and gold accessories. I thought this look would be nice with a black and white Miami Heat fitted which is easily worn to the front or to the back and looks cute either way. You can find this hat in their NBA Hats.
The outfit on the left was inspired by the Charlotte Hornets. This look is very classy with grey wash jeans, a white blouse, white heels, and is accessorized with a purple and blue scarf and some bangles to match. The best hat to match this outfit was the Charlotte Hornets fitted. If you bend the brim, it can transform your look from a fitted to a baseball cap. You can find this in their NBA Hats
The outfit on the right is very classy with a white under shirt, a navy blazer, and jeans. I accessorized this look with a navy Marc Jacobs watch, navy heels, a leopard scarf, and a brown Michael Kors bag. I chose to go with the New York Yankees Baseball hat that has a brown, adjustable strap in the back. You can find this hat in their MLB Hats
This look was created based off of the Boston Celtics colors green, black, and white. It includes a green crop top sweater, a black skater skirt, black booties, and it is accessorized with a statement necklace and a green Givenchy handbag. I chose to pair this outfit with a Boston Celtics beanie. You can find this hat in their NBA Hats

Thank you, Fanatics, for having such awesome hats and apparel!

Color Of the Year: Marsala

Pantone announced that the color of this year, 2015 is Marsala, which is almost a burgundy, wine color that I am absolutely OBSESSED with. I was born in January (tomorrow is actually my birthday - YAY!) and the birthstone for January is Garnet which sort of resembles Marsala. I actually got the idea for this post from Bellynim's Blog who always has amazing posts (so go check it out!).

This color was my go-to color for Fall 2014 and I'm pretty sure it will be again for Fall 2015, maybe even all year long. It's just a gorgeous color. Last year's color of the year was Radiant Orchid which was on the lighter, Sping-like side. It was still such a very pretty color, but I am feeling Marsala for 2015!

I just wanted to give you some options for clothes, accessories, and makeup to incorporate this color in your every day life!

What are your thoughts on this color? Love it, Hate it?

Clothing & Accessories

Here are some options for clothes and accessories that go with this year's color. I'm freakin' in love and need every single one of these! I'm especially loving the Tory Burch phone case, the coat, and Marc Jacobs watch *insert emoji with heart eyes*

2014 Favorites

Can I just write EVERYTHING and be done with it? Haha that wouldn't be much fun for all of you. But seriously. Everything.

Because I just got really into makeup this year, I'm obsessing over everything, but I do absolutely have some favorites. A lot of them are limited edition or holiday collections so I'm sorry if this makes you sad if you can't to get them :(

Favorite overall brand: NARS NARS NARS. Everything from them is just YAAAAAASSS! Such a classy line

Favorite YouTube beauty guru: I actually have 2 because they both have amazing personalities and they're makeup is always flawless - Nicole Guerriero and Jaclyn Hill

Gerard Cosmetics - Buttercup
This is the perfect everyday color for me. Thank you Jaclyn Hill for that!

Bite Beauty Mix N Mingle Set
I was so happy this came out. I first saw the individual Mix N Mingles for the holidays, but waited a bit and then this baby came out! The set came with 10 lip products (2 glosses, 3 lip crayons, and 5 duos). Seriously, you can't beat it. And the pigmentation is just - UGHmazing.

Chanel Camelia de Plumes Highlighter
Can we say stunning? Dear lawwwd! The product is said to have been inspired by diamonds and feathers and my goodness does it capture the inspiration well. I wish this wasn't limited edition because once it runs out I'll probably cry.

NYX Butter Gloss in Fortune Cookie
The perfect everyday gloss! No other words needed.

Hourglass Veil Primer
Another one with a hefty price tag. I usually just get the mini 0.33 oz for $22 and it lasts a decent amount of time. But this primer is no joke. Your makeup will last forever. Get it, you need it.

L'Oreal Voluminous mascara & UD Perversion
These are my go-to mascaras. I rarely ever use any other ones and when I do, I'm just not as satisfied.

UD Revolution Lipstick
I have never felt a lipstick so creamy that was so pigmented before. I seriously need every single lip color.

NARS Audacious Lipsticks
I don't have any, but I need them all. The packaging, the lipstick bullet, the colors - it's just perfection.

Too Faced Everything Nice Palette
This was a product from their holiday collection and the pigmentation in this palette is just awesome! Plus it comes with a bronzer, two blushes, and a highlighter. PLUS 3 mini brushes. Wow, that's a deal.

NYX Round Lipstick - Thalia
This is usually my go-to lipstick for everyday. I didn't think I would be so excited about this color when I first got it and now I can't put it down.

Bobbi Brown Pink & Bronze Glow
The pink glow suits me a little bit better because I'm pretty fair, but the bronze glow is just AHHH! Again, limited edition products that NEED to be permanent. GR!

Tarte Pin-Up Girl Blush Palette
Apparently they do this every year (from what I gather) and from what I saw from last years, it was really cute. This year I'm happy to say I got my hands on it and it is just adorable. The packaging is so creative how they made it into a little clutch and I love their blushes. Ugh I love!

NARS Blush in Almeria
I didn't think I was going to like this blush very much but OMG let me tell you this is such a great shade for fall. Perfection. NARS you nailed it once again. How do you do it?!

Stila Stay All Day Liquid Liner
This is the only liner I use for a winged look. I haven't found a favorite liner for the bottom lash line yet, but this one takes the cake for creating a wing.

Mane & Tail Shampoo & Conditioner
Are you tired of me talking about this yet? Lol. I can't help it. This shampoo & conditioner saved my hair! I just love it so much. It's helped with thickness and length so much! I don't think I'll ever switch to another shampoo and conditioner again. Sorry not sorry.

L'Oreal Erasing Balm and Macadamia Deep Repair Masque
These two hair masks are perfect for those with damaged hair or just want smoother, silkier hair. L'Oreal is about $6 and I believe Macadamia is about $18 so L'Oreal is a good alternative if you don't want to pay the price and it works just as well!

Peter Thomas Roth Pumpkin Mask
The smell of this makes you want to eat it (don't, obviously) but it exfoliates and leaves your skin feeling so soft, too. A must have in my opinion. The price is pretty steep for a mask, but well worth it.

African Black Soap
This is my daily cleanser and it's said to help with acne. When I use it daily I definitely see a difference in my skin (when I'm not picking at it). I'll take this $4 bar of soap over any high priced cleanser any day.

Fragrance/Smell Good

Dolce by Dolce & Gabbana
I received a sample size of this and fell in love. Sephora, give me more!

Prada Candy
So many people rave about this that I had to try it myself and I now see why they do. An absolute LOVE for me. I'll definitely be buying a full size one soon!

Bath & Body Works Sweet Pea, Cucumber Melon, Warm Vanilla Sugar
These three have been and forever will be my favorite scents from B&BW. Sweet Pea is like my signature scent.

Faux Fur Vest - H&M
I wish it was acceptable to wear something everyday. I would so rock this everyday over sweaters, t-shirts, flannels. It's so frikin cute and fashionable!

Black Blazer from Kohls
Because everyone needs a black blazer in their closet!

Boots Boot and more Boots
Combat boots, knee high boots, booties - these are all necessities in your closet and 2014 was the year that these were all pretty popular.
