Lorac Mega Pro 3 Palette Review & Comparison

For those of you that haven't heard of the brand Lorac, run out and grab one of their Pro palettes, even if it isn't this one. Honestly their eye shadows are always my go to. I truly don't reach for ANY of my other eyeshadow palettes except for these because they're that good. They're pigmented, buttery and super blendable. By far my favorite formula, I don't think any other brand holds a candle to their pro eye shadows. So what is the Mega Pro palette you ask? Lorac comes out with these Mega Pro palettes during the holidays each year that are twice the size of their original Pro palettes with 32 shadows rather than 16. Their original Pro palettes have 2 rows of 8 shadows and as pictured below, the Mega Pro has 4 rows of 8 shadows. The top two rows are matte shadows and the bottom two rows are shimmery. It retails for $59 which if you divide that by the 32 shadows that are in the palette, that makes each individual shadow only $1.85 a piece which is such a steal! The regular Pro palettes are $44 so for $15 more you get an extra 16 shadows!
I personally love the shade selection they choose because they tend to put a lot of wearable colors as well as neutrals and I'm a neutral kind of gal so they're right up my alley.
Below is the Mega Pro collection. The first one is the burgundy and gold packaging, the second one is the cobalt and silver, and the third is the white and rose gold. I personally love the packaging on these, the only down side is the material of them, which is like a rubbery feeling that's really hard to describe, gets dirty pretty quickly, but otherwise they're stunning.
Below is a picture of all 3 palettes and you can see they're pretty similar but me being a makeup collector and how much I love their shadows, I can never pass up these limited edition palettes. I personally thing they're worth every penny and I definitely get my use out of them.

New Makeup Geek Foiled Eyeshadow

Makeup Geek is infamous for their foiled eyeshadows and guess what? They're launching not 1, not 2, but 10 new foiled shadows! They are absolutely stunning. These will all be available sometime today and will be the same price as the other foiled shadows ($9.99). I am loving Whimsical and Starry Eyed, because as you all know I'm obsessed with my neutrals lol. Which ones are you loving and/or purchasing?

New Anastasia Beverly Hills Palette

There's something new on Sephora's website and it's pretty interesting if I do say so. This is the Anastasia Beverlg Hills Artist Palette. It is a limited edition palette and retails for $30 and it also includes a brush. These are beautiful bright summer colors, but not something I could personally see myself buying. What are your thoughts? Like it, love it, need it, hate it?

Shades included: Dusty Rose (matte mauve), Aubergine (velvet eggplant), Anaconda (shimmery green), Punch Fuschia (velvet bright purple), Buttery (velvet soft yellow), Blue Velvet (velvet navy), Coal (matte black), Unicorn (shimmery perriwinkle), Phresh (matte bright yellow), Baby I'm a Star (sparkling brown), Orange You Fancy (shimmery orange), Beigely (shimmery beige)

Now Available: Where The Light Is

Kathleen Lights collaboration with Colourpop is now available on the Colourpop website! It is $20, like all of their quads. These are all neutral colors which suits Kathleen as she loves neutrals. I think she nailed the packaging; I absolutely ADORE it. I just wish the shades would be a little more distinct. I feel like you could get neutrals like these anywhere, but because they're by Kathleen Lights, I might make an exception. I wish they wouldve done the actual pans a goldish color, too, instead of the white. Like it, love it, need it, hate it?

Mini Haul

I've sadly been on a "no-buy" for quite some time. Unless I run out of something or find a REALLY good sale, I've been passing on A LOT of amazing makeup and it's been killing me inside lol. About a week ago, I was informed that Colourpop had a sale on their Minx Society eyeshadow quad. Instead of it being $20 it was FREE. Yes, free! The only thing I paid for was shipping which was $5. The sale was only up for a very short amount of time and I'm not sure whether it was a glitch in their system or just a flash sale that wasn't announced, but I'm extremely glad I was told about it! I already have 6 of Colourpop eyeshadows and a full review on them here if you're interested. Sadly I don't have any of their lippie stix or blushes yet but I have a whole wish list of them soon to come.

They always put a cute and witty hand written note in the package which I love because it's so personal.

This is what the outside packaging of the quad looks like. It has a very faint outline of NYC which is beautiful, yet simple detail.

This is what the quad box looks like when you open it. It looks like it could be a palette, but when you open the box it is four individual pans.

From left to right: Girly, On The Rocks, Get Lucky, and Roulette

The cap is sleek and white with a clear center so you are able to see the color. It also has the logo that is almost holographic.

Girly is described as "a creamy vanilla with a flash of pink and duo chrome finish"

On The Rocks is described as "vibrant, true bronze with gold and violet glitter"

Get Lucky is described as "intense ultra-metallic, liquid-like true gold". I have this shade already, but on New Years Eve it fell off of my vanity and smashed. I was able to smash it back together, though because of the texture of these shadows. But having a new one is great!

Roulette is described as a "true matte black". This is the first matte shade I own from them so I'm anxious to see how well it applies to the eyes.

I will be posting swatches a little bit later :)

I also picked up some nail polish because I needed more Spring colors. I typically get mine from Five Below, but only the Fresh Paint nail polish. The formula is so opaque and they always have beautiful colors. On top of that, they are 3 for $5! Can't beat that price.

Tarte's Showstopper!

This gorgeous, gold packaged Tarte palette is finally available at Ulta! It retails for $38. In the palette, you get 6 eyeshadows, a blush, a bronzer, and a highlighter. That's what I call a steal!

It includes the following shades:

  • 6 Amazonian clay eye shadows in Showstopper Copper (bronze copper), Go For The Gold (gold), You're A Natural (nude), Steel The Scene (steel taupe), Rose To The Top (rose gold) and Dim The Lights (black brown)
  • Blush in Fame (warm peach)
  • Matte Waterproof Bronzer in Park Ave Princess
  • Highlighter in Champagne Pink

Colourpop: Where The Light Is

Kathleen Lights has finally released a sneak peek of her collaboration with Colourpop! It releases on April 9th. I love how beautiful the packaging is! I wish she would have came out with more unique colors. I feel like these are pretty basic neutrals that you can get pretty much anywhere.

Colourpop is having a flash sale on their eyeshadow quads. They are 20% off and the sale lasts until tomorrow morning 9 AM PST. I am loving the Rebound quad for Spring. It looks like it has the perfect Spring colors.

Kathleen Lights Collaboration with Colourpop

Kathleen Lights has collaborated with Colourpop in the past on her infamous lippie stix in Lumiere, but she is also coming out with an eyeshadow quad with Colourpop. She has finally posted swatches, but still no sneak peeks of the packaging or the actual eyeshadow pots, but she said more information will be released April 9th so stay tuned! She said the colors are very warm which was to be expected because as she stated in her caption, it's "very her". What are your thoughts on these colors? Like em, love em, hate em?

Limited Edition Minibox

New limited edition Minibox palette from Smashbox is available on Ulta's website. It is $39 and it includes a lip gloss and mascara. I personally heard their mini full exposure palette was a flop because it wasn't very pigmented, but these colors look so pretty for Spring so let's hope they have a better formula!

Ulta describes it as "Earthy neutrals, cool shimmers and lush lashes for eyes pair perfectly with soft pink for lips and blush, bronzer and highlighter for face - all in one take-everywhere palette! A $128 value!"

Here's what's included:
  • 8 Photo Op Eye Shadows (Vanilla, Nude, Ambient, Sienna, Cinder, Rose, Peacock, Ultramarine)
  • Soft Lights in Lens (soft golden pearl)
  • Blush in Geranium (matte soft cherry)
  • Bronzer in Suntan Matte (matte bronze)
  • Travel size Be Legendary Lip Gloss in Pink Lady (pinky pink with light shimmer)

Too Faced just keeps rolling out the new products and I am not complaining! These products are part of their Summer collection. They're coming out with a new eyeshadow palette called "Sugar Pop" with colorful shades and a beautiful matte Blackberry color. They're also coming out with a new trio of powders called "Selfie Powders" which is supposed to give you a "filtered" look such as the filters on Instagram.

Urban Decay: Lips & Eyes

WARNING: This is going to be a super long post, so I apologize in advance. Prepare yourself!

This post is all about Urban Decay products. I was just going to post what I got from Urban Decay for Christmas, but I decided to make it a post of everything I have from Urban Decay. The main thing I usually tend to purchase from Urban Decay is their palettes, so you will see a lot of those!

I figured I would start off with the most talked about palettes since I can remember. I've had these palettes for - I can't even tell you how long, it's been THAT long. The Naked palette was the first "prestige" palette I have ever purchased. It's actually the first prestige item I've ever purchased. I tend to tell people that these palettes are overhyped (because I do believe they are) but after swatching them for the first time in a long time, I realized why they're so hyped about. Everyone knows I'm a sucker for Lorac shadows because of the texture and how blendable they are, but you can see in the swatches that these shadows are extremely pigmented! Also, all three come with brushes which I think is a great addition. I know there's been a lot of talk about a 4th one coming out and even some fakes that people have made, so I'm anxious to see if they actually do come out with a 4th one. Regardless, these are great neutral palettes and I think every makeup junkie should own them. The one I personally tend to reach for the most is the first Naked palette.

Naked Palette
L to R: Virgin, Sin, Naked, Sidecar, Buck, Half Baked, Smog, Dark Horse, Toasted, Hustle, Creep, Gunmetal

Naked 2 Palette
L to R: Foxy, Half Baked, Booty Call, Chopper, Tease, Snake Bite, Suspect, Verve, YDK, Busted, Blackout

Naked 3 Palette
L to R: Strange, Dust, Burnout, Limit, Buzz, Trick, Nooner, Liar, Factory, Mugshot, Dark Side, Black Heart

Urban Decay Perversion Mascara
I know there is a ton of talk about Too Faced's Better Than Sex mascara, but honestly, UD Perversion takes the cake for me. The brush is so fluffy and unlike any mascara applicator I've ever felt and it gives me beautiful, full lashes. This is one of the products I had on my "Worth The Splurge" guest post on Bellynim's blog because I definitely do think it's worth the splurge.

Vice 3 Palette
I had a hard time deciding whether or not this palette was worth buying. I don't own Vice 1 or 2 so I really wasn't sure how to feel about this one. It took me almost 3 months to decide on getting this and it was sold out online and in most stores, except my Ulta. Thankfully they were stocked with like 6 of these babies so I decided, why not? And I'm not disappointed. Pigmented, great range of colors including neutrals, and just a pretty palette all around. The color that really drew me in was Alchemy - such a gorgeous burgundy shade! UGH! The names of the shadows are hilarious, too; very clever. It has a large mirror to do your makeup and a dual ended brush also comes with it.
First & Second Row
L to R: Truth, Dragon, Vanity, Alien, Last Sin, Undone, Freeze, Lucky, Alchemy, and Angel
Third & Fourth Row
L to R: Downfall, Heroine, Reign, Bondage, Defy, DTF, Brokedown, Bobby Dazzle, Sonic, Revolver

Vice LTD Palette
This little bugger was such a struggle for me to get! It was available to Sephora's VIB Rouge members back in August or September and I was not Rouge at the time so I couldn't get my hands on it. Plus it sold out within like an hour! Crazy makeup junkies like myself jumped on it! Then they announced that they were going to come out with it again in November at 4 AM EST, so me being the makeup addict that I am, I stayed up until 4 AM.....and no release. They later announced that it was being re-scheduled until December at 4 AM my time again, so I stayed up until 4 AM on the new release date. Then there was some kind of loop hole you had to go through to get this. Instead of just adding it to your cart, it wouldn't let you. So I had to scroll all the way to the bottom of the page and when I clicked on Quick Shop it worked! Needless to say, I slayed dragons to get this palette lol. The packaging is just adorable. It is a lime green/yellow-ish color with a jeweled UD logo on the front. It is very sturdy and has a large mirror just like the Vice 3 which is great for doing your makeup and the colors are just phenomenal! The 2 colors that really drew me to this palette were Crystal and Provocateur which are just a very pretty blue and pink color. Just a gorgeous palette overall! If you missed the release, it will be re-releasing at Ulta and on their website on January 25th! Mark your calendars because these WILL sell out fast.
First & Second Row:
L to R: Nameless, Back Door, Deeper, Disco, Heat, Crystal, Goddess, Vaporize, Floss, Perversion
Third & Fourth Row:
L to R: Provocateur, HooDoo, Freakshow, Junkshow, Blitz, Chase, Last Sin, Roadstripe, Anonymous, Laced

Urban Decay Shadow Box
This was pretty much an impulse buy. I was standing in line at checkout at Ulta awhile back and this was in front of my face so I picked it up lol. That's usually how it goes. I debated on taking it back a few times because it really just didn't appeal to me, but after re-swatching the shadows, I actually really love it. This does not come with a brush, but the packaging is small enough for traveling and it has a magnetic close so you don't have to worry about it opening and getting it all over the place.

L to R: Sin, Indo, Bordello, Tornado, Smog, Black Out, Lash, Mushroom, Lost, Free Love, Moonshadow, Baked Cowboy

Urban Decay Lipstick Stash (Mini)

This was my first lipstick purchase from them because I wanted to try them out first before I committed and I'm glad I did because I got to try 6 different colors. I can honestly say that these are in my top 3 favorite lipstick formulas next to NARS Audacious lipsticks and Bite Beauty lip products. They are so creamy and pigmented it is unreal. The swatches below are only one swipe. It's just incredible and I'm in love. I definitely suggest their Revolution Lipsticks to anyone who is interested in trying new lipsticks.

L to R: Liar, Illicit, Ladyflower, Crush, Gash, F-Bomb

Again, I apologize for the crazy long post, I just have so many things from Urban Decay. I hope you enjoyed, though :)
