UD Naked Skin Concealer vs. NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer Review

Urban Decay Naked Concealer ($29): This concealer has an okay shade range with 14 shades. The shade I have is Fair Neutral which is my winter shade.

On Sephora's website it claims it is: "An innovative, high-coverage concealer that provides buildable, weightless coverage and leaves an invisible, Naked Skin finish". It also claims it is a "luminous, demi-matte finish" which to me, those are totally contradictory adjectives, lol how is it luminous and matte?

Personally I think it has more of a luminous finish, but it is a little tacky so I always set it with a setting powder. This concealer has a solid 4 stars on Sephora's wesbite. It is full coverage and is extremely blendable, a little goes a long way with this product. I don't notice it interrupting my foundation underneath when applying it and no tugging at the skin.

NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer ($30): This concealer has a little more shade range with 22 shades. I have 2 shades - one in Vanilla and one in Custard.

On Sephora's website it claims it is: "An award-winning concealer that provides medium-to-full, buildable coverage and corrects, contours, highlights, and perfects."

This concealer in the shade Custard was theeeee concealer to have a few years ago. Every Youtuber I watched used this concealer which has now been replaced by the new hottest concealers on the market Tarte Shape Tape and more recently Too Faced Born This Way. But nonetheless it is still a very popular concealer with a little over 4 star rating on Sephora's website.  I'd agree that it's a medium to buildable coverage. For me, I feel that it dries quickly a little dry for my liking, but I have dry skin so I think it would be a good pick for someone that has oily skin or an oily T-zone.

Out of the two concealers, I would reach for UD over NARS which is crazy because I'm over the moon about their Radiant foundation, although I haven't tried the NARS concealer with the foundation yet! I'll try that next and give you guys an update on what I think.

Below from L to R is UD Fair Neutral, NARS Vanilla, and NARS Custard

Have you tried either of these concealers? What are your thoughts?

Casey Holmes' Hairstylist Did My Hair! - Twice!

Let me start by saying I love watching Casey Holmes' videos - anyone else with me? She seems like such a genuine person, definitely someone I can see myself being great friends with. With that said, I stalked down her hairstylist after I saw what an amazing job she did when Casey first got her hair like the balayage blonde. Needless to say, I found her hairstylist! For those of you that don't know, her name is Jess Gold and she's the owner of J.Gold Salon in Atlanta, GA. I live in North Carolina, so for me the drive to Atlanta is about 4 hours with a flight time of around and hour to an hour and a half. I'm the type of person when I find something I like, I don't care how far I have to travel to get it - clearly.

The first time I got my hair done by Jess was last May (2017) I believe for our,my now husband and I's, engagement photos. She was in her old salon, which by the way was super hard to find lol, luckily she stayed on the phone with me to direct me. I kid you not I was walking around the parking lot aimlessly because there were so many other shops there. I looked so helpless!. Anyway, it was my first time meeting her, obviously, but she was super sweet and kept good conversation and was complimenting me and just so, so genuinely nice! She had another stylist there too, Johanna which was equally as sweet. I asked Jess about Casey Holmes but didn't want to be super weird about it so I pretty much just asked how she was in person because she seemed so nice and she agreed and said she totally is and I left it at that.

I came to her with darrrrrkk roots with a faded out blonde that was pretty much to my ends as you can see in the before picture below on the left. I told her what I wanted and showed her some inspo pics. I was going for an ashy ombre and really wanted close to white blonde ends. From the photo, you can see she achieved that - with EASE. I'm talking, this girl knew her formulas, mixtures, developers, toners, etc. I don't know anything about hair coloring but she was asking her assistant for all types of "I need an a20 to go with the e35" (obviously made up terms lol) and she really outdid herself. Blown away, turned out amazing.

Naturally after such a good experience, I had to go back the following year (this year, 2018) before my wedding. I went about a week before our flights to St. Lucia and this time she was in a brand new salon that she pretty much demoed and started from scratch by picking out all of the decor which turned out beautiful! I wish I had a picture to insert. But pretty much she got a bigger space and more stylists with the aesthetic being like gold and marble, which and really chic and clean. This location, if you're not from the area, is also a little difficult to find but the receptionist helped guide me. When I walked in they were all so pleasant and had Duck Donuts (my favorite!) sitting on the table, although I didn't indulge because I still wanted to fit my wedding dress!

I asked her about Casey again this time and asked if she had seen her lately since I knew she moved from Atlanta to NY and she said yes that she had seen her just a few days before and went into a story that happened while she was there. I don't want to divulge any information because that's their privacy, but I'm sure you may have seen some of it on Casey's vlogs. The rest of the time there was just chill and just an all around good vibe. Staff asking me if I wanted anything to drink, I met Jess's dad who is also extremely nice.

The before picture below on the left is the result of the faded out coloring from last year (which honestly doesn't even look that bad - it just looks like a brunette ombre if you ask me). This time around I wanted to go with pretty much all over color with slightly more gold tones versus the ashy white blonde. Again, Jess did not disappoint. Jess, if you're reading this, thank you so much for giving me hair goals for my wedding!

My Wedding Makeup

As you can tell from the title and my last post, I recently got married! I wanted to share with you the products I used on my wedding day to achieve my makeup look. I decided to do my makeup myself because 1. I was in a different country, 2. didn't have time for a trial, 3. didn't trust anyone else with my makeup or hair. For my hair I went super simple of just curling it and pinning up one side. The curls fell out super quick due to how hot it was!

I really wanted something very soft and glowy for the skin so I went with what is now my holy grail foundation - NARS Natural Radiant Longwear. I bought this foundation specifically for the wedding the day before we left and ending up falling in love with it. I wanted something that is exactly how the name describes it - natural, radiant, and long wearing. The finish on this is stunning; it truly is a "my skin but better" foundation. I would highly recommend it if you have normal to dry skin. To highlight my under eyes, I went with a shade lighter because I didn't want it to be too bright so I actually used the L'Oreal Pro-Glow foundation in the shade 203 Nude Beige and then set it with Laura Mercier setting powder

For the brows, I used my normal Anastasia Brow Wiz in Taupe (I suck at doing my brows) Always room for improvement. I wanted the eyes to be the center of attention so I did gold glitter on the lid with Stila's liquid eyeshadow in Kitten to match our color scheme of blush pink and gold. I swept some light brown shades in the crease to blend it and a cream color for the brow bone. And to top off the eyes, for mascara I went with Tarte Lights Camera Splashes because I knew I needed something waterproof for the happy tears! I wanted to put on lashes initially but didn't have time (yes I was running late on my wedding day - are you surprised?) so I skipped the lashes and just stuck with the mascara.

I paired the eye look with a nude lip from YSL in the shade 10 Beige Tribute. I really wanted a different color but I was running short on time and the photographer and videographer were there so I literally just grabbed whichever lipstick was in front of me. I didn't even have time to use a lip liner!

For bronzing I used the Kat Von D Shade and Light palette. This is my go to palette for traveling. I didn't want to go super heavy handed on the bronzer because I wanted it to still look natural although I wish I would've went slightly heavier because you can barely tell I have bronzer on at all. The highlighter I used was Becca's Champagne Pop which I swear I put on like 4 layers, I wanted to GLOW.

What products did you use on your wedding day? Or which ones would you use for your future wedding?

Jane Carter Solutions Revive & Repair Hair Mask Review

After going blonde, I didn't really take care of my hair like I should have so it's slightly damaged and I'm trying to get it back to being healthy again. Recently I've tried the Jane Carter Solutions Revive & Repair Hair Mask which is a deep conditioner.
Doing a deep conditioner once a week is super important to me because it just makes my hair feel luxurious. It makes my hair feel so soft, smooth and revived again. This mask costs $11 and you can find it on her website here. You leave this on your hair for about 10-20 minutes and then when you rinse it out it leaves your hair silky soft!

This is what the product looks like inside. It's white and has a normal conditioner smell. Scents are always really hard to describe! But it's just slightly thicker than a normal conditioner. I would suggest this product to angone who's in the market for a new deep conditioner to try. I've personally nevwr heard of this brand before but I always like falling in love with new brands. They also have an entire line for all different hair types so definitely check out their website to see if your hair type is on there or if they have something to help with any hair issues you may have (i.e. Curly, frizzy, etc) .

Have you tried this brand before? What are your thoughts?

SKIN+AGAIN Review

I've been using these products for about a week now and I'm really excited to share my experience with them! I've personally never heard of the brand prior to using these, but I always love discovering new brands! If interested, you can find their products here. What's also nice is they have the option to bundle products if you need more than one product for your skin type that way you get somewhat of a discount rather than paying full price buying each one individually.
AHA Exfoliating Cleanser (white) $49
This has a gel like consistency with tiny beads to gently exfoliate. You don't want anything exfoliating your skin too harshly because that could cause miniscule tears in your skin that could ultimately get either infected or debris and cause acne. So I appreciate the fact that this is so gentle. I use this every other day and so far I see a difference in my skin and that's only from using it 3 times!

Relief (green) $42
This is perfect for sensitive skin or anyone who suffers with redness. The formula of this is a thin moisturizer that feels so refreshing on the skin. I honestly can't even describe it, it just feels so soothing. I mix this with the next product to create my perfect combo to fit my skin type. This product has really reduced my redness and the next product has started clearing up my acne.

Clear (blue) $32
This, as the packaging states, is perfect for oily and blemish prone skin. Yep! Gimme gimme! Definitely something my acne prone self needs. So the packaging really sticks out to me on this particular product because it's so beautiful! The color itself is really pretty, but it comes with a pump. Anything that has a pump gets a stamp of approval in my book. The consistency is a thin serum that you can mix with the Relief (green packaging) or you can apply on it's own. I've used it both ways and I don't really have a preference on how to use it, but it works either way which is the important part!

Overall, I'm really just wondering why this brand isn't on the shelves at Sephora yet.

Macadamia Weightless Moisture Review

I am a firm believer in Macadamia products. The first product I ever tried from their brand was their Nourishing Moisture Mask. It used to be called something else, but they re-vamped the packaging and changed the name. But it is the absolute best hair mask I have ever tried, hands down. When testing the new products I had high expectations set because of this.

Weightless Moisture Conditioning Mist $22.00
So we all know from a previous review that I did that this product has become my holy grail. I ran out of it and now I have a back up that I'm quickly running out of! Love this for after the shower and for days my hair is feeling a little on the dry side.

I'm not a huge fan of oils because I fear that they'll make my hair oily (who would've thought? lol) But NO! This stuff is amazing! I use it on dry hair when my hair is knotty or dry and it revives it immediately after I brush it through my hair. It leaves a pretty sheen on my hair and makes it SUPER soft. Definitely worth the splurge

These 2 go hand in hand because obviously you use one after the other. But wow. These two. Just wow. I have never had a shampoo & conditioner that I loved so much. All shampoo & conditioners seemed to work the same for me. For those of you that don't know I did stop using hair products that contain sulfates so of course these are sulfate free. This combo made my hair feel thicker and I just love it. I honestly need to pick up the full size of these. I tried the travel size ones and I was little squeezing and scraping out every last drop of this stuff that's how good it was!

Amazing Cosmetics Concealer Illuminate Review

Amazing Concealer Illuminate $30.00

In my opinion, the more glowy, the better! This concealer fits that perfectly. To be completely honest, I really didn't think I was going to like this concealer. I didn't think an illuminating concealer would look right underneath my eyes where I typically highlight, but I was wrong. It is definitely luminous and in my personal opinion I think you have to set this concealer otherwise it will crease, but it is sooo creamy and blendable! I think this is a great concealer for summertime. It's lightweight but so dewy, hydrated and makes you look awake.

What's New? | NYX and Makeup Geek

I just got an email from NYX with information on a new "to-go" palette! There are 6 eyeshadows, a bronzer, a blush, and a highlight! How incredibly awesome is this for traveling and better yet, a drugstore purchase ?! The downside is they are $17 a piece which if you think about it, isn't too awful because you're getting 9 different products in one palette so that's roughly $1.89 a piece. The neutral one is called Wanderlust and the more colorful one is Bon Voyage. This is now available on the NYX website.

Also, something amazing has come about. @MakeupGeekTV on Instagram posted these sneak peek pictures. It appears they are branching out from just shadows and brushes. They are now working on what they're calling Cashmere Lip Creams! Sounds to me like liquid lipsticks. And my goodness these colors look beautiful!

The Too Faced Bronzer Wardrobe that you've seen all these YouTube beauty gurus have is now available to the public for a limited time on TooFaced.com ! It is a bit pricey, but you are getting 6 FULL size bronzers and a full size kabuki brush for $198 when original cost would be $274! I would definitely say this is a steal and a staple in a makeup collection. Love this set and it's perfect for summer!

New on the Market: Drugstore & High End

Hi babes! Sorry I've been MIA lately, I've been super busy with YouTube and a bunch of other stuff. So let's just dive in to the new goodies that will be or have already released!

First up is a NYX product that will be coming out in June. SOOOOO soon! This is their new Liquid Suede lipstick. I can't imagine these being any more than $5 - $8 seeing as they're drugstore, although their prices have been increasing a lot lately. It looks like they made some beautiful neutral colors I can't wait to get my hands on that pink one!

Next is 6 Long Lasting 16 hour blushes by Too Faced. These have cute heart packaging and adorable names! These are a part of their Fall 2015 line so I'm not sure when these will be releasing. I'm assuming possibly in August? And do I spy their new foundation in the background?! "Born This Way" is what it is called. That should be releasing around the same time. I've never tried a Too Faced foundation so I'm excited to try that. I think I definitely want to get my hands on the Baby Love blush too! Eeeeek, I'm already starting a Fall wish list and it's not even officially Summer!

Next are the Maybelline Creamy Matte lipsticks. These have been the talk of the town all over the place. But, wait, because there's more! They are coming out with ten new shades that will be permanent! Clay Crush looks beautiful for Spring! OMG. I'm not sure if these are out already or not, but check your local drugstores and Ulta's because they may be sneaking onto the shelves already.
Last is a new line from e.l.f. called Beautifully Bare which includes a blush ($4), blending brush ($6), foundation serum ($8), lash tint mascara ($4), defining mascara ($4), and a lip tint (not pictured $5) . They mentioned on their Instagram that there is a limited quantity for their launch so hurry while these last! I am definitely interested in getting the blush, foundation serum and that blending brush!
