St. Lucia: Coconut Bay Beach Resort & Spa - Serenity Suite Review

Let me start by saying this is not a sponsored post. These are all 100% my thoughts and opinions. So we booked the Serenity Suite for the week of our wedding in June of 2018. The Serenity Suite is another part of Coconut Bay Beach Resort & Spa within walking distance for adults only. When booking a Serenity Suite, you get 3 personal butlers for the length of your stay and they provide you with a butler cell phone for you to call them from anywhere you are on the resort for your needs - to pick you up, drop you off, bring you food/towels, etc.

We were picked up from the airport by our wedding coordinator and taken to the resort which is about a 5 minute drive - very, very close! Upon arrival, we were greeted with champagne and the butlers took care of our luggage. We were then given a tour of the room which is stunning. They had the entrance and tub decorated with rose petals, balloons in the plunge pool, bottles of champagne and chocolate covered strawberries. Our wedding planner was with us during the tour to make sure everything was exactly what we expected - which it actually exceeded our expectations.

We stayed in the Jasmine which is 1,900 square feet with it's own plunge pool, deck, hammock, gazebo with seating, and outside bar. From what we were told, this part of the resort was just built about a year ago so everything is pretty new.

At the bottom of the bed there is a flat screen TV that comes up. It was literally a dream to stay here. I kept asking my husband "Is this real life?!" Every day we would come back to the room and it would have different shaped towels with decorated with different flowers with cute notes from room service or our butlers. They even had our names on the TV "Mr. & Mrs. Reyes". So cute!

The first photo is the door you walk into to get into your room. When you walk in, to the left is the gazebo and straight ahead is the hammock, outdoor shower, bar and one entrance to the room. To the right is the plunge pool (which is actually a lot deeper than I expected - it went up to my chest, almost my neck if I was standing flat foot to the bottom) and there is another entrance to the room in front of the plunge pool. When you walk in from the pool, you enter the living room area, you walk up the steps to get to the bed and there is a garden tub and stand up shower with dual sinks and mirrors. I didn't get a photo of it, but behind the bed is a hallway that has a sit down vanity mirror.

Pools, Bars & Restaurants
The Serenity Suite has it's own private pool inside of each room, but they also have their own community pool on the Serenity side of the resort which is stunning. It has these pool lounge chairs, the big round chairs in the back and on each side they have first-come-first-serve cabanas (they got cut out of the photo) and surrounded by palm trees. Coconut Bay also has quite a few pools I don't remember how many exactly but I believe around 4 plus they have water slides too! Anyone from Serenity is also welcome to use Coconut Bay's attractions, but not the other way around.

There are so many things to do there, I'll make a completely different post about that.

Serenity has it's own community bar and a restaurant on it's property called the Greyhouse I believe? Coconut Bay had a bunch of places to eat like the Jerk House and a pizza spot. A lot of the other restaurants required reservations which was one downfall because every reservation we made we ended up not going either due to being tired or having other plans or the places we wanted to eat at were booked.

By the way, I judge the bars based on how good their pina coladas are and theirs was BOMB. The 2nd pina coladas I actually like (the other being in FL)

Everyone was so friendly and treated us like royalty. They knew us by name - everytime we would walk by they would smile and say "Hi Mr. & Mrs Reyes!". We were there for our wedding so we had a few wedding coordinators which were all amazing help as well. From the time we landed, I didn't have to lift a finger; they literally handled everything and made sure it was as stress free as possible. The photographer and videographer were also great. They were super interactive and did an excellent job.

We even met with the manager and had a few conversations with him while we were there and he was so accommodating and personable. The bartenders were entertaining and had such good people skills - also really helpful on places to go and things to see on and off of the resort. We had booked a tour and the tour guide we had went above and beyond. He would stop randomly just to pick fruit off of a tree and tell us about it and stopped in town to get swimsuits for some of the guests that didn't have them. There were also workers who were cutting down fresh coconuts off of the tree and stopped my husband and I to ask if we wanted one. They asked what room we were in and came to our room while we were in the pool and cut the coconuts for us and gave us straws. It was overall such a pleasant experience.

                                    *one of our butlers, Mervin!

Overall, I would rate our experience a 15 out of 10. Seriously just an amazing time. Everyone that went is still talking about how they had such a good time and it was almost 3 months ago! I would 100% recommend this resort and suite to anyone looking to travel.

My Bridal Shower!: Where I Got My Dress & Decor

Since I mentioned my bridal shower in my last post, I wanted to share with you photos from the actual bridal shower day. I always love seeing the decorations that everyone has for their celebrations now-a-days. They always come out so pretty. Below are photos of the getting ready process. The first photo is pre-pre-getting ready haha. No makeup, hence the cropped face and a "Future Mrs." t-shirt. The second photo is an after-hair photo. The third is an after-hair-and-makeup photo and the fourth is a photo of the tumbler I got from Etsy that has my name and says Bride on it with a bow.

Below are after photos once I put on my dress. I want to know your honest opinion on how my hair turned out? I had it professionally done. I was just going to leave it down and curly but last minute decided to get it done. Let me know in the comments below!

The dress is from Bebe. Funny story about the dress actually. My husband and I were bowling one night and I saw a girl wearing this dress, I thought it was super cute and had to have it for the bridal shower! But I didn't want to be weird and ask her where she got it - so I made him do it lol. So he asked her where she got it and I bought it right then and there. The sash I got online from Etsy which was a legit life saver. Between Etsy and Pinterest, I swear I used both of these websites daily and spent soooo much money on Etsy for both the bridal shower and the wedding decorations.

In the first photo, you can see I had a backdrop that was just a white fabric with the "future mrs" banner to take photos in front of.

No joke, I probably spend more time planning my bridal shower than I did our wedding as crazy as that sounds. I just had such a vision for what I wanted and really wanted the majority of things to be personalized. Below are photos of all the decorations. Hope you enjoy :)

Below are photos from the outside of the venue walking in. I had a chalkboard that said "This Way for the BRIDE to be" and my name. I bought the chalkboard from Kirklands and wrote on it myself. Then the large floral letters (S and A) on the doors I got from Etsy.

Then, walking into the venue, they had stairs to walk up and double doors to walk through. When you walked through the double doors, there was a welcome sign and a glass round table (pictured below) which we decorated.

The welcome sign I got from Etsy, printed it at Office Depot and glued it to a poster board. Below that, the R with REYES down the side I got the wooden letters from Michael's Craft Store, painted and glued the little letters on. The count down blocks were ordered from Etsy. Our engagement photo was just a print out I think from Walmart. The guestbook sign I got from Etsy and the frame from Walmart. I honestly don't remember where I got the gold "xoxo" from - possibly TJ Maxx or Marshalls. The blushing bride mug I think I got from Anthropologie and the "hooray" sign from Etsy. Lastly the actual guestbook and the confetti from Etsy also - are you surprised? Lol.

Then, you walk down a short hallway and walked into the room through a door that had a gold "I Do" with bows hanging from it.

When you walked through the door, to your left was the gift/card table. There was a cards & gifts sign similar to the guestbook one from the same place. The gift bags for the winners of the games spelled out my new last name - good thing I wasn't marrying into like a 12 letter last name lol that would be a lot of gifts. I got the bags from Michael's and wrote the letters on it myself. Then standing up against the wall is actually an old window with the glass taken out of it and strings with mini gold clothespins holding our engagement photos. Then the card cage I got from Etsy and the 2 bottles of pink and gold champagne from Walmart.

Right next to the gift/card table was a fireplace which we decorated also. My mother-in-law made the gold glitter R on the left, then we had tassels from Etsy hanging from the fireplace, an engagement photo in the middle, and gold and white mugs from Anthropologie that spell out LOVE with faux flowers in them. On the right is a canvas that I painted with a pink background and spray painted buttons gold and glued them in an R.

Some of the favors included the following (all from Etsy): Hershey bars that had a HERSHOWER wrapper, Tic-Tacs that had a wrapper that on one side says Mint To Be, our names on the top, and on the back a Save The Date, and matches in a pink velvet box that say Perfect Match on one side and our names with the date on the other side.

It was a brunch, but I like sweets too so I went with ring shaped cookies, chocolate covered strawberries, chocolate covered pretzel rods, and the cake. I also got some sugar hearts for coffee. Below is the cake topper, sugar, and cookies - also from Etsy and the strawberries and pretzel rods I made with my mother in law and sister in laws.

The picture hanging is a pink heart with our date in gold and the light up S & A we got I think from Michael's.

I didn't take a picture of it, but there was a brunch buffet - pretty much eggs, pancakes, crepes, etc. And we had a Mimosa Bar. There were 5 different juices, mimosa champagne flutes, and personalized mini champagne bottle. I got the champagne bottle labels from Etsy and the Mimosa bar sign from there also.

Lastly was seating , I'm sure there's way more decorations that I'm missing because literally I had like every little detail planned out but I'm sure at this point you're already bored haha. But for my seating, there was draping with a "the Future Mrs" sign, from - you guessed it! Etsy. Then I had a Mrs stemless flute and gold utensils. I didn't get a really good picture, but the center pieces were just faux flowers in a circle around 3 candles, I kept it super simple with those.

I'd love to hear and see photos about your bridal shower or even any other celebration you've had!
