Anastasia Beverly Hills Summer Waterproof Creme Color

Anastasia is releasing 6 new limited edition Summer Waterproof Crème color shades. The shades are: Barbie Pink, Ice Blue, Coral Reef, Sunset, Yellow, and Ocean. They will be available at Macy's on May 15th and they will be $18 a piece. These are supposed to be able to withstand very hot and humid temperatures which is perfect for summer. I am personally not all that interested in these, but they are definitely a good concept. If I were to get any, it would definitely be Ice Blue and Sunset. What are your thoughts? Like em, love em, hate em?

New Anastasia Beverly Hills Palette

There's something new on Sephora's website and it's pretty interesting if I do say so. This is the Anastasia Beverlg Hills Artist Palette. It is a limited edition palette and retails for $30 and it also includes a brush. These are beautiful bright summer colors, but not something I could personally see myself buying. What are your thoughts? Like it, love it, need it, hate it?

Shades included: Dusty Rose (matte mauve), Aubergine (velvet eggplant), Anaconda (shimmery green), Punch Fuschia (velvet bright purple), Buttery (velvet soft yellow), Blue Velvet (velvet navy), Coal (matte black), Unicorn (shimmery perriwinkle), Phresh (matte bright yellow), Baby I'm a Star (sparkling brown), Orange You Fancy (shimmery orange), Beigely (shimmery beige)

More Liquid Lipsticks from ABH?!

We all know Anastasia Beverly Hills came out with an extensive line of lipglosses and liquid lipsticks and it looks like they have more liquid lipstick shades up their sleeve! Norvina posted this picture today and captioned "Liquid lipstick is CRAFT and she's coming for you this summer. Consider her the anti-summer". I'm anxious to see if there are any other shades and what they look like! What do all of you think of this color? Like it, love it, need it, hate it?

High End Fresh Face

My previous post showed you makeup products to achieve an Affordable Fresh Face from the drugstore but for all you high end junkies, here's some high end makeup products to achieve the same look. All of these products can be found at Sephora or on their website. Again, this is the order I would typically apply my own makeup, so feel free to apply your makeup in the order you feel comfortable with.

First prime your face with either a brightening/illuminating primer or the Smashbox Primer Water would be very refreshing especially on a warm day.
Next, apply your foundation. I suggest a luminous foundation rather than a matte foundation to give you that dewy glow. This is the Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk foundation that everyone swears by.
After that, apply your concealer (one to two shades lighter than your foundation) under your eyes to brighten up the under eye. If you want to highlight other areas of your face as well, highlight your chin, your cupids bow, the bridge of your nose, and your forehead. This is the infamous NARS Radiant Creamy concealer.
To bronze your face, you don't necessarily have to use a matte bronzer because matte bronzers are used for contouring, but when you're bronzing the face you can use either matte or shimmery bronzers. So use whichever bronzer you want just to give some warmth to your face. This is the Too Faced Sunny Bunny Natural Bronzer.
Then to add some color to your face, add a small amount of blush. This is the Tarte blush in the shade Dollface. I love light pink blushes for natural looks, especially on fair skin.
To add some glow to your face, add Becca's Skin Perfector in Opal. This color looks good on so many different skin tones.
To give your eyes some definition, add a coat or two of mascara. My favorite is the Urban Decay Perversion mascara.

To make your eyes look more open and wide awake, apply a nude eyeliner on your lower lash line. This one is this Ardency Inn Modster eyeliner.
Fill your brows in to frame your face. You can go for a more natural look by just running some Anastasia brow gel through them or you can actually fill them in with the Anastasia Brow Wiz.

Set your makeup with the Urban Decay Chill Makeup Setting Spray to give you a flawless, dewy look and lock your makeup in place.

Last, apply a natural looking lipstick. I would suggest either a nude, a light pink, or a mauve color. This is the NARS Audacious lipstick in Anita.
What are your favorite high end makeup products to use for a fresh face?

Anastasia Beverly Hills Lip Gloss

Anastasia is at it again! New lipglosses will be released tomorrow at Macy's. They retail for $16 a piece and there are 34 shades! Yes, thirty-freakin-four. That's insanely amazing. Norvina is describing them as "glossy lipsticks" because of how pigmented they are. She also says they are "moisturizing, not sticky and has a faint fragrance of sugar and honey". Um yes please, I'll take all 34.

New Anstasia Beverly Hills Liquid Lipstick

As we all know, Anastasia released a ton of liquid lipsticks, but one missed the first cut. Bambi is a beautiful baby pink with lavender undertones. Unfortunately they couldn't get the formula right in time to get it out with the first batch, but it is now releasing today at 10 AM PST!

So who is getting this baby?

My Everyday Face

Everyone has their go-to's and recently these are mine. I use these for my "everyday" makeup look. A lot of these are holy grails or things you probably have seen all over mmy page and some are newbies that I've tried and have been loving or ones that I'm just trying to use up until I find a better replacement.

Primer: Hourglass Mineral Veil Primer (not pictured) - The best primer I've tried yet. The texture is so rich and it makes my makeup last all day.
Concealer: Hard Candy Glamoflauge - This definitely isn't a holy grail, but it's something that I'm just trying to use up for now. By no means a holy grail, though. I thought I loved it at first but now I'm not so fond of it for everyday use. If you have any holy grail concealer recommendations please leave them in the comments! I'm always looking for something new to try.
Foundation: Neutrogena Shine Control - This has been my go-to for like a year now and I love it! One of the better drug store foundations. I am testing out the Estee Lauder Double Wear foundation so I'll let you know how that goes in a few weeks!
Setting Powder: Neutrogena Shine Control - Again, not really a holy grail, it gets the job done though.
Bronzer/Contour: Too Faced Milk Chocolate Soleil - I love this bronzer for my fair skin, especially on days where I wear minimal makeup. It just adds a little color and dimension to my face.
Highlighter: The Balm Maryloumanizer - Holy grail highlighter right here!! The perfect champagne color, just flawless.
Mascara: L'Oreal Voluminous Carbon Black - This one I'm just recently testing out, but prior to this one I was using just the original Voluminous mascara and loved it. It was my holy grail, so I'm hoping I love this one just as much.
Eyeliner: Kat Von D Tattoo Liner (not pictured) - Probably one of the easiest liquid liners to work with when doing a wing.
Lip Balm: Vasseline - My lips were always chapped and I would always forget to put lip balm on. But this year I've been more conscious about things and I put this stuff on literally like 20 times a day. It gives my lips some color and makes them so soft, plus the fact that it's so tiny is so freakin cute!
Lipstick: NYX Thalia - I would wear this every. single. day. I absolutely adore this color. It's a mauvey-pinish-nude color. It's just gorgeous. And for those of you that are into the "Kylie Jenner lips" this one is a pretty good dupe. I do have a post on
the Kylie Jenner lip and the products she uses if you're interested.
Brows: Anastasia Brow Wiz - Because what girl doesn't have this?! It's no secret, I'm awful at doing my brows because they don't really have a defined shape and they're so thin, but this makes it easier to work with.
Beauty Blender: The holy grail of all holy grails. I don't know what I was doing with my life when I wasn't using this to put my foundation or concealer on.

Anastasia Beverly Hills Cream Contour Kit

For those of you that have heard Anastasia Beverly Hills is coming out with a cream contour kit, here are some swatches! What do you think? I would need the light/medium palette for my skin tone and I absolutely love the colors! They look super pigmented and blendable as well. I'm really glad they made one for each skin tone, though. I love when they have a range for every person's needs. They are $40 each and they will be available February 17th!

Game Changer!

Can we all agree that Anastasia Beverly Hills changed the contour game with her contour kit? Okay, but THIS is really the game changer. Like I can't even contain my excitement! How many of you have seen your MUAs or YouTube gurus with this contour book? It will be available to the public on February 10th for a super limited time! Please lawwdddd don't let this sell out before I get my hands on it. Like what?! Is this real life? How many of you are also excited about this? It retails for $100 which isn't a bad price for this and from what I've seen it's pretty big! But OMG!

EDIT: ABH changed the price from $100 to $150. I don't know how a company can just change the price after already releasing the announcement but okayyyy. I mean I feel like $100 was reasonable and $150 is a little pricey but is anyone still interested after the price increase?

Year Of The Contour

As many of you may have noticed, contouring kits and tools have become a huge hit this year. Almost every makeup company is coming out with them, including some drug store brands! And they just keep pouring out! Here are most of the contour kits that are available ranging from $12-$50.
NYX Wonder Contour Stick $11.99
For being so affordable, I'm surprised I haven't heard much about this product since contouring it the latest thing. Unfortunately I don't have much to say about it because I haven't personally tried it and haven't heard any reviews on it. So if you've tried it, comment what you're experience was with it!

Sephora Contouring 101 Face Palette $28
This palette looks pretty interesting to me. This is another one I have not heard many reviews on which I suppose is because it's pretty new to the market. But at $28 it's not a bad price.
NYX Contour Kit $30
This palette I'm a little iffy on. It's NYX, which means it's a drug store brand, yet it's $30. But let's do the math: the palette is $30 and it has 8 shades (that are interchangeable) that means each individual shade is $3.75 which honestly is a great deal! Plus the palette is re-usable so I guess you're getting a pretty good deal on this!
Lancôme Le Duo Stick $36
This is a dual-ended highlight and contour stick with 5 different shades to choose from. These don't really speak to me, but it's pretty much the high end version of the NYX Wonder Stick I mentioned above.
Tarte Park Ave Princess Contour Kit $36
This palette is so pretty! You get a bronzer in Park Ave Princess, highlighter in Champagne Gold, and blush in Posh all in one and it is just such pretty colors. This really appeals to me and I was afraid it was limited edition and thankfully it's not!
Anastasia Beverly Hills Contour Kit $40
Anastasia, you started it all! This was one of the first contour kits on the market that everyone had to have and now because of this one palette there are tons similar to it! This is the high end version of the NYX palette. It is $10 more and only 6 shades instead of 8, but from what I hear about this palette, it is amazing blazing!
Becca Lowlight/Highlight Palette $42
So we all know that Becca's blushes and highlighters are bomb dot com, so maybe their contouring creams will be just as good. The only downside to this is that it only comes in one shade which is pictured below.
Smashbox Trio $45
Oh my goodness, give me! Jaclyn Hill raved about these contour sticks and now I need them in my life. They just seem so convenient, especially for traveling. The set includes a bronzer, a highlighter, and a contour as well as a sharpener!
Smashbox Step-By-Step Contour $45
This is pretty much the palette version of the trio sticks. So if you aren't really gravitating towards the sticks and want a palette, this is for you! It also comes with the angled brush as shown in the image.
Kat Von D Shade & Light Palette $46
This palette has soooo much hype right now. I've heard this is better than the Anastasia contour kit but shhhh! You didn't hear that from me. I definitely have my eye on this palette, but I don't think I would get any use out of the darkest shade because of how fair I am. But this is a very popular contour palette at the moment. The shades it comes with are as followed:
Light powder in Lucid (pinkish nude), Lyric (yellow beige), Levitation (soft peach)
Sombre (true taupe), Shadowplay (soft brown), Subconscious (deep brown)

Bobbi Brown Face Touch Up Palette $48
The good thing about this palette is that it comes in 11 different shades so there is a wide variety of colors to suit each person's skin tone. The somewhat downside is that this says it is just a "touch up" palette. I haven't heard too much on this palette so I'm not sure how true that is and I don't know if it can be used as a true contour palette, but it's definitely great for on the go to touch up your contour and highlight throughout the day. This palette includes:
Skin Foundation Stick, Corrector, Creamy Concealer, and a Sheer Finish Pressed Powder
Laura Mercier Flawless Contouring Palette $50
This palette is personally too dark for my complexion, but for all you deep toned women out there, this is perfect for you! It's definitely on the pricey side, but I know there aren't a ton of options out there for darker girls unfortunately. But the price might be worth it for you if you're having a hard time finding a contour kit to fit your needs. This palette includes Contour #1, Contour in Medium #2, Deep #3, Highlight #1, and Highlight #2
Do you have any of these contour kits? If so, which ones and what are your thoughts on it?!

Anastasia Beverly Hills Takeover

We all know Anastasia Beverly Hills is the Queen Bee of brows, but what about eyeshadows? I bought myself 3 of Anastasia Beverly Hills' palettes: Amrezy, Maya Mia, and Tamanna. To give a quick review on them: the shadows are extremely pigmented, the color selection is bomb dot com, and the price for each is $29 which I personally think is a lot more affordable than most palettes out. I know these palettes have been out for quite some time, but they were Christmas gifts from me to me lol.

The Amrezy palette is the one that everyone is after, and of course it's sold out everywhere so I had to get mine through eBay and surprisingly I didn't have to pay an outrageous price for it, although some eBay sellers are jacking up their prices. But my lawwwwd this palette is gorgeous. The colors are just perfection. I'm pretty sure I watched a Jaclyn Hill or Nicole Gueirrero video and whichever one it was said if you can't get your hands on the palette, Anastasia sells the shadows individually ! So you can kind of make your own Amrezy palette and put the single shadows into a Z palette. But seriously, you need this palette, or these shadows in your life! My favorite shadow from this paletre for everyday is Glisten but I love Emerald, Iridescent Purple, and Deep Plum.

Top L to R: Legend, Glisten, Topaz, Iridescent Purple, Emerald
Bottom L to R: Vanilla, Caramel, Morocco, Deep Plum, and LBO

Maya Mia came out I believe in the Fall this year and I was a little confused because the colors are more Spring-like. Don't get me wrong, they're still beauriful, I just feel like it should've released in the Spring. I haven't had a chance to play around with it yet, but I love the Aqua and Fresh Peach colors! And Glisten is also in this palette so that's a win!

Top L-R: Nude, Deep Brown, Sienna, Warm Taupe, and Vanilla
Bottom L-R: Aqua, Fresh Peach, Glisten, Caramel, Gold Bar

The Tamanna palette I was a little weary on getting because some of the colors looked really similar to the Maya Mia palette. There were a lot of posts on Makeup Social about that, but when I got it in the mail, I compare the two and although they're similar, they're completely different at the same time. So needless to say I'm glad I got it. The main reason I bought this palette is for Sangria because it is such a beautiful color.

Top L-R: Fresh, Blush, Venezia, Gilded, Custom
Bottom L-R: Sangria, Bengal, Chocolate, China Rose, Noir

Do you have any of these palettes? What are your thoughts on them? Love/hate?
