Luscious Curls with ghd Classic Curl

Before I give you my thoughts on this, I want give a disclaimer because I always want to be 100% honest with my viewers. With that said, I want to let you know that I did not purchase this, the company was generous enough to send it to me for review. Although they sent me the product, this review is going to based on my honest opinions and thoughts! I would never promote something I wasn't a fan of or a company I didn't believe in or give a good review for a product I don't like.

Now that that's out of the way, let's get to the review! This is ghd's Curve Classic Curl Iron 1". It retails for $245.00 USD. They also have other styling tools such as other curling irons and wands, flat irons, blow dryers, and brushes. Their products are available on their website and at Sephora. Sephora's website describes this as follows:
"What it is:
A classic curl iron with tri-zone™ technology and a medium one-inch barrel with a spring-activated lever that creates consistent curls for classic style and volume on short to long hair.

What it does:
Get high-volume and soft waves with less heat with this curl iron. It features six multitasking sensors in the tri-zone barrel that heat up to the optimum, consistent styling temperature evenly along the barrel. Its trizone technology means you can style faster for frizz-free hair that is stronger, shinier, and healthier looking—resulting in gorgeously shiny, stronger curls that last for 24 hours.

What else you need to know:
This product features a professional length swivel cord, a two-year warranty, and universal voltage. This curl iron’s patented Tri-Zone™ Technology delivers the optimum styling temperature at all times. Sleep mode lets the tool automatically turn off if unused for 30 minutes, and the advanced ceramic coating is specifically designed for smoother curls."
My thoughts: The packaging is sleek and beautiful. It has a matte black handle and the curling iron itself is almost like a gun metal color. Matte anything is all the rage right now and black matches anything, it's just a very classic color. It heats up in literally 3 seconds once you turn it on which is so convenient for someone in a rush. I really appreciate the sleep mode because sometimes people do forget to turn their curling irons off before they leave the house (guilty as charged). When I was curling my hair and reaching for the tip of it to hold onto, I kept getting nervous I was going to burn myself because I'm not used to the curvature it has. I'm used to curling irons that have just a round tip to hold onto, but this one you kind of have to feel around to grasp it. I think it's just something I have to get used to, though.
The Tri-Zone Technology distributes the heat evenly which allows the hair to get the perfect, even curl. There is only one heat setting, so for those of you that love to crank up the heat, you might be thinking this isn't for you - BUT there is only one setting for a reason. So don't write it off just yet, heat lovers. It is designed to give you longer lasting curls in a shorter amount of time with less damage! I literally only had to hold this on my hair for about 20-30 seconds before releasing the clamp and getting luscious curls. My other curling irons that I've used in the past took twice and even three times the amount of time to get my curls to look even half this good! My hair was shinier and the curls were just flawless.

I love that the "on/off" switch is just a button that you push, plus the location of the button is perfect! It is located right underneath the clamp and although it's a little hidden, it's a good thing. The reason I say this is because you can't accidentally turn it off while curling your hair and later realize the reason your hair isn't curling is because the iron was turned off (guilty again). Also, when you turn it on, it makes a noise and a light comes on so you know it's on which I think is a great feature.

To get these curls, here's what I did: First, I plugged in the curling iron to let it warm up (this only takes a few seconds with the ghd Classic Curl). It's not a huge deal, but I'm not really a fan of how bulky the plug is, but if that's the biggest concern I have, that's a good thing, right?! Then I sprayed my hair with a heat protectant. I then sectioned off my hair and put what was left in a clip. I took my hair in sections where I combed each section, sprayed it with hairspray and then curled it with my ghd Classic Curl, repeating this step until all of my hair was curled.
Here is my hair before I curled it. This is my natural hair, just air dried.

Here I have half of my hair completed. I am absolutely stunned at how perfect these curls came out. Now to finish it up! (Don't judge how crazy this looks with only one side being done haha)
Here is the finished product and my goodness, my curls have never been so gorgeous! I wanted to take a before and after picture from fresh curls and at the end of the night, but I forgot, so I'm sorry for that! But I have played around with this curling iron almost every day for the last week and a half and I must say these curls stay in place for quite sometime. My hair is very thin so it doesn't usually hold curls extremely well, but this curling iron did the impossible. It claims they last up to 24 hours, but my curls lasted about 15-18 hours, which is still phenomenal. But like I said, my hair doesn't hold curls that well, so for someone who can pull off curls with other curling irons, this baby will be your best friend. Your curls will probably last days!
Final thoughts: Although the price tag is a bit hefty, this curling iron is from the gods! I absolutely fell in love with it and will be tossing my old curling iron, for sure! So here's a quick recap: easy power button, has a safety feature, heats up within seconds, curls quickly and long lasting curls.
Thank you, ghd! I definitely found a new love :)
