5 Perfect Valentine's Day Dates

Valentine's Day is a day for showing love and appreciation towards your significant other and although I agree that this should always be shown, Valentine's Day is just an extra special day for couples out there. So here's the big question, where should you go and what should you do for Valentine's Day? That's what I'm here for! I have 5 special date ideas for you and your loved one and more :) Maryam from Line Up The Makeup has come up with the great idea to collaborate on this post together, so for more V-day date ideas, check her beauty blog out!

Let's get started:

1. The famous dinner and a movie. Get dolled up and go to a nice restaurant with your loved one and after, go see a movie you've been wanting to see! If you're not really up for getting out of the house and just want to relax, stay in! Cook dinner together and rent a few movies and just snuggle up on the couch. This one is perfect for those single dolls out there, also. Stay in and cook yourself some food and watch some movies by yourself! There's nothing wrong with spending some quality time with yourself in solitude.

2. Speaking of the single dolls out there, if you don't have a boo to cuddle up with on Valentine's Day and you're bummed about it - no worries! Throw those thoughts out the window. Take the time out to show yourself some love today! Pamper yourself by splurging a bit on a shopping spree and getting your hair, nails, and toes done. If you want, throw a massage and a facial in there too. A full spa day with the works :) If you're running on a low budget, have a spa day for yourself at home. Jam out to some music while pampering yourself. To find out what to do for an at home spa day, you can visit my previous post Girl's Night. Include some wine for a little more relaxation.

3. If romance is what you're looking for, take a carriage ride around your town. If you don't live near Central Park in New York this may be hard for you to do, you might have to travel a bit to get there, but I'm lucky enough to have something like that in my hometown. My boyfriend actually took me on a carriage ride and that's how he gave me my promise ring. The cutest thing ever and so romantic! You really forget about everything around you and just enjoy each other's company and the scenery.

4. Another way to spice it up in the romance department is to re-create your first date. It'll have you falling in love with each other all over again as if it were the first time. Unfortunately this one wouldn't be possible for my love and I because where we had our first date doesn't open until the weather gets warmer. Our first date was at a drive-inn and it was the most romantic date ever. I'll never forget that night!

5. If you're both adventurous and you'd rather have some fun with your lover or date, go rock climbing or go-karting. Make it even more fun by putting a little competition into it. Whoever wins gets a lucky prize ;)

Bonus: Make it a double! Go out with another couple either dancing, bowling, or something else that just gets you out of the house for some fun!

Extra Bonus: Plan a weekend get away. Since Valentine's Day actually lands on a Saturday this year, why not spend it together in a hotel, exploring a new place together?

I'd love to know which date you choose or if you have any others in mind that you have planned out. Leave your Valentine's Day plans in the comments :)
