What Does Makeup Have To Do With Labor?

Okay so I'm sure you're all probably wondering what labor & delivery has to do with makeup. Hold on, I'm getting to that! First, I want to put out there that I do not have any kids and I am not pregnant. But, here's the reason for my post...

The reason for this post is because I've always imagined what it would be like to go into labor and if I would take the time to get ready (i.e. makeup & hair). I know a lot of people don't really care, but I watch the Kardashian's and when Kourtney's water broke she was getting in the shower and doing her hair and makeup. Honestly, that would so be me! I want to look pretty. It'd be better if I had my own GlamSquad to do my hair and makeup for me lol. But on a serious note, there are going to be pictures of the first time you're holding your child and that moment is special - I don't want to look all raggedy. I'm sure I'm still going to be sweaty and gross but at least I'll be somewhat decent lol. Call it superficial or whatever, but that's just how I feel. I'm sure a lot of you makeup lovers feel the same.

I would obviously have the necessities for the child in my hospital bag, but I would also bring along makeup and hair tools. I can imagine how funny it will be; me sitting in the hospital bed doing my makeup and the nurses looking at me like "Doesn't she know she's about to give birth?" Too funny! I might feel this way because it would be my first child. I know a lot of things change once you have a second and third because you've been through it before, but then again I think about it and it would be just as special so I'd probably do it again the second time around (if I had a second one).

What are your thoughts on this? Do you think it's superficial or a waste of time to get ready for labor?
