Skin Care Routine

I'll be honest, I've had acne prone skin all my life - and it's partly my own fault. I constantly pick at my face which causes redness and potentially creates more acne. It's a bad habit I need to stop. Another bad habit I got into was not taking my make-up off at night, which is something that also probably causes the breakouts I have.

Recently, I've started to care a lot more about my skin and what it looks like, so I've cut back on the picking and now I make sure I take my make-up off at night. I also never used to moisturize which I just recently learned is a huge part of skin care. So here is my skin care routine. Please be aware that everyone's skin is absolutely different, so what works for me may not necessarily work for the next person. I just want to share with you the products I use just in case they're products you might be interested in trying.

I wear make-up all throughout the day and by the time I get home I'm SO ready to just take it off and let my skin breathe. To take my make-up off I use Neutrogena hydrating make-up removing wipes in the green-ish, turquoise color. The reason I get the hydrating ones is because my skin can get very dry, very quickly. On the other hand, my skin can also get oily. So I get the worst of three worlds: acne, dry, and oily. So you can see why it's difficult to manage and get my skin under control. Any way, these wipes cost about $6 and you can get them almost anywhere; Walmart, Target, and drug stores are the main place I've found them. The only complaint I have is that they don't always remove ALL of the make-up. I'll usually have eyeliner or mascara still under my eyes, or I'll feel like there's still foundation in my pores or on my face, so I am looking for something to use in addition to these.

I've gone through so many differnt facial cleansers and acne scrubs it's ridiculous! I just recently purchased the Olay Total Effects 7 in 1 blemish control. This is probably the most gentle acne face wash I have ever used! I'll be doing a complete review on it in a few weeks, but this face wash feels like lotion going onto your face with little beads. I've only used it twice so far, but so far that's enough for me to like this product! I believe the cost of this was about $5 from Ulta.
Lastly, before I go to bed, I put Olay Regenerist Night Cream which I also just recently starting using as my nighttime moisturizer. This stuff works WONDERS! After just ONE night I noticed such a drastic difference in my skin. And I'm not usually one to believe that products work over night, but this one did! Just like the Olay blemish control, I'll also be doing a full review on this product as well in a week or two. The cost of this was $18 on sale at Ulta.

I don't have a long list of a skin care routine because for one, less is more and two, I just recently started taking an interest into helping my skin become healthier. So hopefully I'll be adding new products to this list in a few months.

If these products interest you, go try them out and let me know how they work for you!
